Max was, to put it lightly, "rough around the edges". Post-Pulse Seattle, being in hiding because she was a walking, talking government experiment for war, and being hunted for escaping, had definitely left its mark on Max and not in a good way. Having been in Madison Valley for less than a month, she remained leery of most parts and people in this town. There was a variety of "freak" in this place and Max had only experienced a bit of it so far. Plus, she was going solo now because Alec was sent back home. Granted, he could be annoying, but he was someone she trusted and now, without him, she felt more alone than ever.
"Works for me," Max said in return, shrugging her shoulders. They may share a face, but she wasn't all too sure about anything else. Sue seemed okay, but looks could be deceiving. Max didn't trust her brother fully either. Hence why she fully planned on looking over his shoulder while he worked on her bike or at least looked at it. Her bike was her most treasured possession.
At the comment about Johnny, Max smirked. "He is rather annoying on a level that reminds me all too much of Alec." To that end, Max believed she could handle Johnny. "I think I can handle him."
