Bruce & Turner
Turner was happy to celebrate how much stronger her relationship with Evan had become over their time here. She was starting to feel more settled and more like she could settled into life here in other ways, particularly in more personal ways. That meant going to parties and mingling with people she knew on a more cursory level.
Bruce seemed relatively easy to approach. He was from the same world as many of her coworkers and they'd seen one another a time or two before. She thought to simply run into him at the dessert table, but before she could say anything, he remarked how delicious everything looked. "It really does," Turner replied, her plate half full of a little of everything that appealed to her. "I'll pay for it with my workout tomorrow, but it's a price I'm happy to pay." She reached for a chocolate chip cookie to add to her plate. "How are you doing?" she asked.
