"Sweets are real sweet," Briar cautioned. He didn't care for them. Back in Emelan he had the same sweet tooth as any other kid his age. He liked pastries dripping in honey and he liked pies and he liked his morning porridge soaked in the sweet stuff even. He did not like sweets in Madison Valley.
"Dunno what they do to 'em but it ain't like nothin' I ever had before I got here."
