Wes nodded at the question. "Several books of mine from home arrived after the count down, so I'm quite all right." He had his entire library from Los Angeles with him now. It was both a comfort and a source of further restlessness for him. He accepted his life in Madison, but he would always miss the work he did in LA.
"How are you?" he asked. It was only polite. And he genuinely cared. He considered Kenny a friend. The kind he didn't have to check in with every few days, but when they ran into each other, the ease of friendship was there regardless of how long since they'd last spoken.
