Who: Molly Walker and Summer Roberts What: Sisters for the end of the world When: Friday night Where: their house Warnings: TBD Status: Closed/On-going
The last day was the hardest. Molly knew that the clock was counting down, the hours in single digits by the time she made it home for good. For what was left of it being home. Dinner was sombre, the adults retreating to be together in the last hours and she didn’t even complain about it. She knew that if she asked any of them, they’d let her be there until it ended, but it wasn’t either parent’s bedroom door that she knocked on. It was Summer’s.
Her whole life Molly had been an only child, had wanted a sibling so badly it hurt at times, and having Summer come into her life had made that dream come true. That they were the same age made them the best of friends, too. There were countless nights of just laying in each other’s beds gossiping or painting each other’s nails or goofing off and acting like little kids again. They probably drove their parents nuts with the constant giggling when they decided it was sister time.
And now it was over and Molly was going back to a world where she was hunted and used and passed around from home to home and she wouldn’t have her sister through any of it.
She didn’t wait for an answer, let herself in without the usual flair she normally did. Quiet and subdued she just lingered by the door. “Is it okay if we hang out for a while?”
