His hands slipping beneath her shirt made her a little nervous, just like it always did every time he touched her like that, but Riley never wanted to push him away before, knowing that he wouldn't ask her any more than she was okay with. She wasn't really sure that she was okay with more yet, but she was making a choice and she wanted to do it.
She really thought she wanted to do it.
He wasn't making it easy to not start over thinking it, though, and Riley looked toward the fire. Her heart was already racing, nerves mostly but there was excitement in it too she thought. She wanted there to be excitement there. She wanted the knots in her stomach to be butterflies more than fear. "No." She said it quickly, maybe too quickly, and followed it by smiling at him. "It's not cold. And I was thinking..."
It was so hard to actually say what she was thinking, was way too embarrassing, and so Riley did the next best thing. Glancing down shyly, she took his hand from her waist and pushed it further beneath her shirt.
