A mere week and a day following her one year anniversary here Padme was faced with the knowledge that she might be leaving Madison Valley soon. All signs from the last few days pointed to this scenario and like many people here, when she went home, Padme went home to die. She would arrive before her last few breaths ceased, the precious knowledge that her children were safe, and the sadness in knowing their lives would be difficult, if not impossible because of their own father. Because she was unable to save him, save the beautiful thing of democracy, her children would fall victim and possibly prey to it all. It was a difficult thing to die knowing and she would know all of it. Then? She assumed there would be darkness, nothingness, and no pain. There was just...the end. The end of her life, her life with the man she loved, and the life she never experienced with them as a family.
She supposed the only silver lining of it all was that she would not remember the time she spent here. Those cherished times with her husband, their son, her daughter for a time, and many others from her world and those from others would be lost once she was returned home. It was a small comfort in the an obvious calm before the storm scenario that was bound to occur in Madison Valley soon. She knew her husband felt it too; he didn't want to fall to the dark side, loss her, and their son. Perhaps that pained her more than the knowledge of her death; he would lose himself. Nothing could be worse than that. He would face off against his son and daughter, his children, and not hesitate to fight them and possibly kill them. No, Padme felt so much worse for Anakin than she did herself. Her fight was over as soon as she left his and his? His struggle was just beginning.
Padme, like a lot of refugees, found herself at Verdant. For a time, she'd been at the apartment, but sitting at home, simply rethinking over and over about everything was driving her made. While being around others, in different states of sobriety, was not exactly the ideal solution, it was better than being alone. Being that they were both force sensitive, she knew her son and husband would be able to locate her. She hoped they would come and join her. She figured Anakin had seen Sara's post and might show up regardless. Either way, she'd only be here for a bit so if they did not come, they did not come. It was just for a few moment reprieve from the walls of their apartment and maybe even from her haunting thoughts.
