This was a wholly unexpected development. She didn't want to go home. She didn't want to go be in a world where Allanon and Wil were dead, and Amberle was still a tree. They no longer spoke to her here, but they lived.
Kenny would find her throwing knives into a tree stump, a glower set on her lips, her brow furrowed, eyes narrow. She was in a foul mood. Just when she didn't think this place could suck any harder, it did.
*** Kenny, on the other hand, could care less about going home. Actually, going home meant he'd get to see his sister again. He'd get to see Stan, Kyle, and the rest. Of course, he'd miss all his friends here. Well, everyone except Death that is, since he would always see her in same way. But he wouldn't see anyone else ever again. And as much as he accepted his fate, he didn't like that idea.
So he went out for a walk. He had no particular destination, he just needed to get up and move around a bit. He ended up in the woods and came upon Eretria. It was clear she was very unhappy about this turn of events. "Dude, I think that poor tree stump has had enough," he spoke up.
*** She rolled her eyes a little, “Probably but I don’t particularly care either.” she said in reply as she looked back to Kenny and sighed. “Sorry. I’m not in the best of moods.” she didn’t want to go home where everyone was gone and she was left to attempt to shoulder the weight of the Druid orders on her shoulders, she had help but it wasn’t a ton either.
“How are you?” she asked as she tucked the last knife away and wrinkled her nose a little. She rolled her neck, cracking it lightly.
*** He just shrugged. "Yeah, a lot of people aren't." Which he understood. A part of him didn't want to leave either, to say goodbye to his friends and Ella. But he was fatalistic and he was quick to accept his fate. Besides, he'd get to see his sister again and his friends.
"I'm fine. Kinda hoping I'll be here when this world ends. Like will we be here when it starts crumbling around us or will we have gone home before then? I'd be disappointed if we were gone before then."
*** Ere looked over at him and laughed softly. She was happy to have his humor around when she was grumpy. "That would be interesting, wouldn't it?" She grinned a touch.
"Okay I might like that too. Better than missing the end. I'm just tired of all my friends dying on me, which is not unlike all my friends vanishing"
