Jay and Mal
Mal had stayed far away from the epicenter of everything that had happened. It was both her choice and the fact that she had been helping Nico. The idea of being pulled back into a place you didn't want to be struck far too many chords in Mal. Not helping would have tugged at her in ways she didn't want to talk about to anyone.
Of course, when everything had calmed and the coast cleared, Mal had been sure to remove the spells and was on her way. Nico had voiced his opinion on magic after all.
Tonight was going to be good, though. No worries and no stress. Just celebrating with good food and good company. Not to mention the explosions from the fireworks.
"Hey loser," she said with a grin, messing with Jay's hair before Mal dropped down to sit beside him.
