Who: Jean Grey and Open What: Dealing with losing people Where: Starbucks When: Tuesday afternoon Status: Open; Incomplete Rating: TBD
In less than a month, Jean would be celebrating her one year anniversary in Madison Valley. No, she would not use "celebrating" as the most accurate term of how she felt about being trapped in Madison Valley for one year...so far. It had not all been a bad experience. During that time, she'd met many new people, she'd come to know Bobby and Harry as well as see the Professor again, Kurt, Raven, and Erik. She'd celebrated at festivals, at people's gatherings, and at random events. However, for all of these sorts of things, she did have to consider the people she'd lost in that time too. Bobby, Harry, Kurt, and now Tia were all erased from Madison Valley; their things gone along with them and it was as if they had not existed at all. For two of those people, Jean would never see them again and that hurt the most. At least, she knew Kurt would be at home, waiting for her if she ever went back, and maybe Bobby too or at least a version of him. Tia and Harry came from completely different worlds though and she would never see them again. That part was the most painful of all.
Hoping a dose of caffeine might cure her sadness, she'd ordered a coffee and settled outside to sip on it and people watch for a bit. It was not as if Madison Valley was exciting to witness a lot of the time, but at the moment, Jean was okay with this lull in the craziness...or mostly a lull. Apparently people had started turning into animals too because why not? Well, at least she'd remained human for the time being and with her abilities? She was grateful for it; the last thing they needed was a telepathic whatever running around that could also move stuff with its mind. Stirring her iced coffee, Jean sighed and closed her eyes. Easily, she picked up on the thoughts of those around her and despite it all, she still found herself reaching for those she'd lost only to find nothingness in response. It's not fair. Jean thought, opening her eyes. With all my power, I still can't reach past Madison Valley. Into other worlds. Their worlds. Then again they probably would not remember her anyway or bother to answer because of it.
