That smirk of his never seemed to fade; that charm, the smile, and the easy going posture all just a mask Alec wore to keep the world at bay. To keep them from seeing the emotional turmoil he was facing. Only Max and Joshua had ever managed to peek behind the curtain, to see the real man. Yet even then such moments of genuine honesty had been rare, and Alec had no desire to show any weakness here in this strange town. Too much of it all was still unknown, and so very foreign as well. He'd never admit it, but Alec wasn't doing fine. If anything he missed that little makeshift family of his. Missed them and worried over the impending war that all his kind were facing.
However here and now; trapped in Madison Valley, and stuck out of his own time too, there was nothing he could really do about any of it. Drinking helped. Drinking, hustling some cash at pool, and trying to lose himself to distractions. Even as he sat at the bar and pretended to be listening to the woman sitting beside him, those thoughts of his kept drifting to Terminal City...and to the faces of his friends he may never see again. "Yeah that sounds good. Just let me get another round in before we head back to my place." He didn't know her name, and honestly didn't care. The stranger was attractive and forward, so when she approached him Alec didn't turn her away. A bit of company and some meaningless sex sounded like a decent enough way to spend the rest of his night.
After knocking back a final drink, and paying off his tab, the man just strolled outside with the woman beside him. Pausing when she pressed him against the wall of the place to kiss him. For a moment he let himself just enjoy the desire fueled kiss, but when he heard the tell tale sound of a camera taking pictures off in the distance Alec's whole body just went still. Enhanced senses came in handy, and even at this time of night, even there in the relative dark, his gaze drifted up to the roof of the building across the street. There in the dark his eyes spotted the figure of someone up there. Someone with a camera taking pictures of him. Without saying a word he suddenly poured on the speed, seemingly disappearing from where he had been standing in a blur...only to appear standing beside the photographer up there on that rooftop a moment later. "Nice night for taking pics, eh? Just hope you managed to get my good side....though let's face it, both sides are good."
