Who: Llewellyn & Wes Where: on the streets When: Evening Why: because Warnings: None, Really. Status: Completed Doc
Llewellyn was bored. This place was boring. Her host didn't mind it, no wars, nothing that set of her PTSD, nothing that made her want to hide under a rock. She sighed as she stuffed her hands into her pockets and stalked her way through the town. As she passed a window, her reflection changed from red haired beauty to dark haired (with red tips), horned, raven winged demon, a cloak of shadows curling around her, a ghost of a scythe in her hands. She no longer noticed, but anyone nearby did, of course.
Wes had just left WAMM for the day. He wasn't in any hurry to get home. There was little point, without Faith there. He no longer felt like the house was home, it was little more than a place to lay his head. He rarely saw K-Mart or Stuart, and felt that was for the best. He wasn't much company these days.
He dragged his feet as he walked, heading into town to get something to eat. He glanced up at the sensation of movement in front of him, and offered a smile that didn't reach his eyes to the woman walking toward him. And then he saw her reflection in the store front glass at her side, and his eyes went wide at the realisation she was a demon. Or something very demon like. "Evening," he said, the word accented with his British lilt. He was going to remain calm, see what she said or did.
Llewellyn looked up at the man who's eyes went wide and she heaved one hell of a sigh, no pun intended. "Evening." she replied as she moved out of range of the stupid window pane. Sometimes that was the most annoying part about her. "Let me guess, you saw my reflection hmm?" she cocked a brow upwards, her lips twisted into a smirk.
"It's a bit hard to miss," Wes pointed out. He didn't care that she moved away from the window, the image was seared into his mind. He would look through his books, what few he had in Madison Valley, to try to find a similar likeness and determine who and what she was exactly, if she didn't tell him. "I'm not going to freak out. I'm quite aware there are some where who are not what they seem."
"That's fair. That's one I can't help." A shrug of her shoulder. Oh he could dig, he might even find a reference. She'd held some decent status as a fallen angel. But she also wasn't shy about it. "Oh well that's good, freaking out is so terribly exhausting to deal with and is really not my style".
He put his hand out. "Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. Outside of Madison Valley, my best friend is a vampire." He used the term best friend loosely, because there was a lot of drama between Angel and Wes. Sometimes they were friends, sometimes they were mortal enemies. But all in all, Wes still considered the vampire to be his best friend in Los Angeles. He wasn't sure who fit that title in Madison Valley, since Faith had cut out on him. It didn't really matter at the moment.
She pondered that for a moment, then shrugged, and took his hand in hers. Her grip was a little colder than it should be, a fallen angel of death was still a walking talking embodiment of death even in a human host. "Llewellyn Cornick, that's the host's name, though if you want the real name you'll have to ask nicely." she grinned a bit.
"Allow me to do some research, and see what I come up with. To be fair, I haven't my full library here, and I'm not certain I can find you in the volumes that I do have. But it would be fun to try. And if I do or if I don't, then perhaps I could ask nicely as you request." Wes was curious, but he also enjoyed a good challenge
Llewellyn grinned at that, someone liked a challenge. That was kind of fun. "Sure, that's fair. Did you want any hints to get you started on the right path?" she arched a brow, honestly curious if he did or didn't.
"Perhaps not." Wes shook his head. "That would be cheating. And if you're willing to play along, I see no point in cheating." He had no idea if the books he had in Madison Valley would be helpful, but he sincerely hoped so. He hadn't had a challenge like this for quite some time. Not since Jordan Parrish had enlisted Wes and the Winchesters to try and figure out what he was, and that had been several years earlier.
She inclined her head to him. "As you wish. I am sure it will be quite fun for you then. No hints, then." Fallen Angel. Demon. Different yet not. He would have fun digging to try to figure that one out. She pushed a lock of red back and rested her hand on her hip. "Do you do research into such things a lot, then?"
Wes rolled his shoulders. He was suddenly feeling more like himself, with this challenge at hand. It felt good. "Not so much in this town, though there has been an occasion or two. Where I come from, I do quite a lot of research into the supernatural, as it were." He'd been a rogue demon hunter, after all. Though he no longer hunted strictly to hunt, he still didn't figure that was a great title to mention at this time.
She wouldn't have cared, he wasn't attacking her and she wasn't out to end demon hunters right now. Maybe later. "Ah, I see. Sounds like a passion though. I do hope to liven up your time here just a little then." she grinned a little wickedly.
"The challenge is much appreciated." It was exactly what he needed to get over Faith. To feel more like himself again. To get back on track. "I have missed such a task." He felt lighter, happier. Like there might be a light in his eyes that hadn't been there when he'd first encountered her.
Llewellyn might be a Slayer, a killer of humanity, an Angel of Death but she was also a Creator. She gifted people with creations. She was just tasked with taking them away, too. So to see the light in his eyes from her work was enough to add to her faith and make her feel a little more lively, too. She had helped create a spark. It was... satisfying. "I am glad to hear it. I do love helping people find their way." it wasn't really a hint, but it was too.
"Careful. You don't want to give me any hints, remember." He grinned. Whether it was meant to be a hint or not, he could certainly take it as such It didn't seem so far fetched to him. Demons typically tempted humans to commit sin, thus leading them to hell. Wes had been tempted more than once, whether by demons or otherwise. He wasn't proud of that fact, but he wasn't exactly ashamed either. He was who he was because of the things he had done in his life.
Llewellyn laughed softly, and shook her head a bit. "I wouldn't ever." she smirked a touch. She wasn't a demon, not in the tempt people into selling their soul kind of fashion. She was, of course, a demon by the fact she'd fallen from Heaven, cast out from God's grace. But she wasn't one who tempted, it wasn't her deal. That was left to the Devils who tended to tempt. She just... inspired then destroyed.
He'd either figure that out, or not. It was hard to say. It really depended on what information was available in the books he had at hand. He often wished for his entire library from Los Angeles, but times like this he really wished he had more of his books.
"Good," he smiled. "I'm looking forward to trying to figure it out."
Llewellyn bowed her head, letting the visage peek out in full for once, giving him a brief glimpse instead of that in a mirror. "I do look forward to seeing what you come up with. No cheating and asking people like Lucifer or Crowley, though." she purred.
"I make a pointed effort not to speak to Lucifer," Wes said with a slightly awkward and uncomfortable roll of his shoulders. He had nothing against Lucifer as he was in town. He hadn't ever really spoken to him at all. But the very concept of the devil didn't appeal to him so much as the demons did.
He wondered idly if she knew Tom. But he wasn't going to ask his ward about her either. No. He wanted to do his research the old fashioned way.
"I generally find that is the best way to handle him." despite being a loyal follower. She fought for him, killed for him, assassinated angels for him, but she never fell into the Luciferian crowd. The zealots among them were exhausting. "I suppose I should let you get going then, I bet you are simply eager to try to find what you might be able to." she grinned. She enjoyed this.
"It's like you know me." He was intrigued. He probably wasn't going to sleep at all. Not until he either found something or admitted there was nothing in his books to help him. It could go either way, and if there was something there, he would find it.
She only shrugged, "I know people like you. Once they get a bite of something interesting to dig into, it's hard to let go." she smiled as she blew him a kiss. "Good luck, I look forward to hearing from you either way. If you do figure it out? Just say my actual name three times if you want me to come say hello." she waved lazily as she turned to continue walking down the road, a smile on her face now.
Wes watched her go, and only after she was out of sight did he turn to go back to WAMM. He was no longer interested in food. He had work to do.
