Most of the time, Kenny always felt 'dead'. He was in a state of constant boredom and not many things made him feel alive. Ella was one of them. Just her alone was enough to make him feel alive, even if he didn't want to admit it. Another thing was getting into danger on purpose. He was always putting himself in danger, trying to see how long he'd last before he got killed. He was definitely a thrill seeker.
So of course he was going through the portal once he heard it could be quite dangerous. Even better, he got a hot new chick to come along with him. He had arrived near the portal and when he saw her, he nodded.
"Hey," he greeted her with a nod. "Ready to have some fun?"
***
Said hot chick had brilliant ginger hair, bright eyes that were all mischief and she had an aura that was a little on the cold side. But she had pulled her long hair up into a pony tail, said fuck it to going to her apartment first and found her way to the portal.
“Oh hell yes.” The shadows hugged her, she see on her powers without thinking, she was just in a mood and it leaked out. She smirked then stepped right on in.
***
"Good." Either he hadn't noticed her powers leaking out or he just didn't care. Probably the latter. Either way, he shrugged before following her into the portal.
Once inside, they were greeted by a man who welcomed them. He kind of reminded Kenny of the welcome committee in Madison Valley, so of course, he barely listened to what the guy was saying. He just pocketed the money and took the map, nodding every so often. It wasn't until the guy mentioned places they shouldn't go to that caught his attention.
"Wait, what was that?" he asked.
"The Underdark, do not go there unless you want to..."
Kenny cut him off. "Yeah, yeah, I don't care, I'm still going," he said then without another word, checked his map real quick before heading into the direction towards the Underdark.
***
Llewellyn had already started walking away from the man. She could hear him as she walked and grinned. “Underdark. Let’s go.” she purred as she stalked towards where she could feel the darkness. It called to her and she was eager to go play.
“Do you want to buy anything before we hit the fun??” she asked over her shoulder at him, pausing before a glass window, horns and wings visible in her reflection, she didn’t even seem phased, only smiled wider.
***
"Maybe later," Kenny replied with a shrug. He wanted to see what sort of crazy, dangerous shit they could get into first. Or maybe he'd come back tomorrow. Portals usually stayed open for a few days, so he had time to buy something.
As he walked, he saw her reflection out of the corner of his eye. If he was surprised, he didn't show it. He'd seen weird things, so nothing really phased him. "So what are you?" he asked.
***
She nodded then continued towards the tunnels to the Underdark, not even missing a beat, even as others once and awhile saw it and blinked a few times thinking they were mistaken in what they saw.
She pushed a lock of red out of her eyes, and looked over her shoulder, and for a brief moment she let her form actually manifest - raven wings, horns, a cloak of shadows, a shadow of a scythe in her hand before it faded back to just her. “A demon, a fallen angel to be more precise.” she said simply as she continued towards danger.
***
Kenny knew what he saw. Not just in the reflection, but also what she had just shown in front of him. He'd seen demons before, having been in Hell and tortured by them. Aside from having horns, they were completely different than the one he was with right now.
"Oh, cool," he shrugged as he walked, nearly to tunnels.
***
She led the way down “I think we’ll find something down this way.” she said lazily as she felt her way through, eyes seeing just fine in the darkness. “Yes, well, fallen angels and demons, while the same thing we are different and really it’s exhausting.” she said laughing softly.
She’d reaped faith from him - he believed what he saw and that was enough to add to her pool for using her powers. She didn’t need much like the other Houses did, she just needed them to see her. It was enough.
“How dangerous are you feeling up to?”
***
He nodded as he followed her, eyes adjusting to the darkness. He had a bit more of a harder time seeing. He was immortal but that was it, he didn't have any other powers. Luckily he could just see okay. "So what is the difference?" he asked.
He shrugged. "Up to maybe getting killed and killed again," he replied. Yes, he was that bored tonight.
***
Llewellyn smirked a touch, “Well, common demons tend to torture people and all that boring shit.” she said with a push of hair back, then she rolled her shoulders and called out Pass without trace, leaving no footprint behind, no sound to her steps.
“Me, I’m a Slayer.. A reaper. I create life and then take it away. I am Death’s instrument.” she knew Death, of course she did. “I am the scythe that ends Humanity. That ends god’s creations.” she spit that out with venom. She hated that her House had been forced into taking away what was created. She helped shape beauty. Taking it away was a curse.
**
"Guess I've only met the common demons," he shrugged. Back in Hell, he had been tortured by them and that was it. He knew there were demons in Madison Valley, but he never really spoke to them. He didn't know if they were boring demons or fun demons. At least he knew this one was the latter.
"Cool. I'm guessing you already know Death," he said as he walked more into the darkness. Nothing has happened yet and pretty soon, he was just going to yell and see if anything would hear him. "So when are you gonna end humanity? Tuesday?"
***
“Yeah that's not really my game.” She shrugged as she walked, “i'm not fond of doing my job, I was meant to create not destroy but it is what it is.” She shrugged, she lost that moral compass forever ago.
“I do indeed.” She said as she laughed. “Eh I was thinking Friday really.” Then she paused, grinning. “You wanted fun. Two spider like things up ahead.”
***
"Damn it, I made plans for Friday," he said, pretending to groan. Not really. He was someone who hardly made plans. He was more the go with the flow kind of person.
"What, that's it? Spiders?" he sighed. Oh well. It was better than nothing and who knows? Maybe there'd be something else along the way. So he walked up to them. "Hey, you arachnid fucks!" he shouted, getting their attention. He just grinned and waved at them before they suddenly moved, launching themselves at him. He managed to dodge out of the way just in time. He was almost killed by some spider creature and he was smiling.
***
Llewellyn laughed softly - “My bad, sorry about that then.” she winked as she stepped forwards.
They were two large, bigger than humans, driders - in fact - half Drow, Half Spider and all murderous intent. “Oh well they look fun, don’t you think?” she manifested, because why teh fuck not? Raven wings, horns and she gave off an aura of entropy, killing the plants around her as she went toe to… toe? Leg? With one of them.
“I’d suggest breaking their legs first”
***
Kenny had no idea what the fuck a Drow was nor did he really care. "I guess," he shrugged, watching as she manifested, seeing her wings and horns now. "Oh hey, you're hot," he commented with a slight grin.
He shrugged. "Yeah, alright." He had brought his sword along just in case and he suppose now was a good time to use it. So the next drow-spider thingey to come at him got one of the legs cut off. It wasn't breaking it, but whatever.
***
Llewellyn tossed her hair back between her horns and down her back before she dove in. “I know I am.” she winked laughing as she grabbed one by the leg. They were huge, and tried to hurl magic at her. But she just swung it around like a discus and let it fly into a wall.
The one he had wobbled as one leg was cut off and tried to cast a web spell on him to hold him in place. He was a snack to them. They were not nice creatures, and they didn’t mind a searing hatred for men.’
**
He nodded and grinned when she grabbed the other one and swung it around. "Strong too. Nice," he said. He wasn't surprised, though. She was a demon and demons were usually pretty strong. At least, the ones he'd met were.
He managed to dodge the first web spell thrown at him, but the second one got him. Now he was covered in webbing and unable to move. He managed to free himself a little and kicked the drow-spider when it was close enough. But it just did another web spell to trap him again.
"Oh yay, I'm gonna die," he sighed, not really bothered. Okay, maybe he was a little. He was sure it was gonna hurt. But the dying itself? He could care less.
***
Llewellyn glided over to him from where she was playing with the other Drider and laid a hand on the webbing, it melted away dead and decaying. It was still something to decay after all. She laughed softly as she curled her fingers around the things hands, and broke them both.
“No dying when I still want to see you have fun.” she laughed softly as she kicked it backwards so he could play a bit more as she moved back to her own, and tore a leg off. She was not kind, she was death on wings of black and she had no problem embracing it from time to time.
The dark blood splattered across her face as she smacked the thing with it’s own leg. “Really, okay you asked for it.” she laid her hands on the thing and it just… died. Decayed before their eyes, it was not pretty.
***
He was a bit surprised when she came over to help him. But he figured it was for a reason and he was kind of right. "Thanks," he shrugged. "But it doesn't really matter if I die, I'll just come back. So either way, I can have fun."
He just watched impassively as the creature decayed before him. "Sucks to be you, dude," he said as he got up. "Well, that was ... kind of fun. Let's keep moving and maybe we'll find more fun."
***
She dusted bits of decayed drider off her outfit and smiled. “Then I shall let you die next time.” she teased as she wandered off down the tunnel, hands clasped behind her back, shadows clinging to her as she walked. She liked it this way. She could be her and not Llewellyn. She was and forever would be Lirilith, but she had to be Llewellyn for so long she forgot once in awhile.
“I’m sure they will send others now.” she purred as she walked. “I heard there were dire bears hiding down here too. That would be interesting.”she hummed a tune as she made her way through.
***
"Awesome," he grinned. Really, though, it didn't matter to him. It really didn't matter if he died or not, the end result would always be the same, which is he would be alive and okay.
"Yeah, probably," he shrugged as he got up and followed her. As he walked, he dusted himself off. "Bears? I bet they're cute," he said even though he already knew they'd be the opposite of cute. He didn't see anything, though, and just kept walking and listening to her hum whatever tune she had in her head.
***
Llewellyn delved deeper into the tunnels, looking for more trouble, and they’d find plenty to amuse themselves with. Enough to get him killed at least once and enough for her to come back with plenty of goodies to play with. And enough faith to keep her moving for months. Llew found she enjoyed this place pretty solidly. It was a little fun letting loose.
