Laurel felt a pang of sympathy at her friend's words. It was clear that the other woman was severely torn over everything that had happened, but more so, torn about herself in general. No, it would never be easy for Nyssa to not give into those urges from her past. For years, since birth, she'd been raised to be a killer and someone who lived to cause pain and to take lives. Being the opposite? No, it wasn't easy in the least and Laurel agreed with Nyssa: It could very well be a lifelong struggle for her. It may always be a sort of tightrope that she had to balance on and that was horrible to think of, but most likely the truth of it.
"It might be, Nyssa," Laurel replied softly and reached for her friend's hand, squeezing it gently in an attempt at comfort, even if it ranged in the small variety. "But you don't have to do it alone. I'm here for you at any time and Sara too. We won't let you cross that line." Laurel could relate because for her? Her addictions would remain stark, sometimes painful and difficult life struggles too. As long as she had people around her to help, she could handle it though and she believed in Nyssa. She knew the woman was strong and far from just in a physical sense.
At Nyssa words, Laurel frowned and her heart ached for the other woman. "Maybe you can be in the middle. Use your abilities for good instead of in a bad way. It's not easy to do here I know, but we can try and find something to help with it," she reassured her. "And no one can just flip a switch on themselves Nyssa. You're not alone in that. You have to remember you were trained your whole life as an assassin too. That's ingrained in you and it's not something that will ever not be a part of you, but you can fight it. You can use those abilities for something good."
