Time for a vampire wasn't quite the same as it related to living. Not when immorality tending to blur days, weeks, months and even years together. With eternity always on the horizon most of the undead barely registered the passage of time at all; too caught up on the pursuit of the next meal, or in the quest for power and carnage as well. Even Spike wasn't immune to such way of life, having slipped through the last century or so far too consumed in Dru and having fun to really notice a great deal. However there last few weeks, this last month, William found himself so firmly rooted in the present...so keenly aware of every passing second, all because Buffy was no in his life.
Every single moment spent in her company was an absolute delight; and for the first time in ages the bleach blonde vamp felt more alive than he ever had before. Oh he was still dead, still sporting a demon within the shell of a dead English poet, but his time here actually seemed to have meaning at last. Even here and now; enjoying something as mundane as shopping at the local grocers, Spike was smiling so freely and earnestly savoring the time they shared together. Just hearing her speak those words aloud had a look of absolute awe flash across his face, and the sound of her laughter had his eyes filling with desire again. The vandalized box of cereal was all but forgotten as the vamp's focus was drawn to her alone, and for a lingering moment William found himself transfixed to that spot.
"Not...not sure what to say to that, luv. I've never been this bloody happy before, so no uh...no teasing me bout it, yeah?" Without thinking Spike moved at last, placing the graffiti covered box back on the shelf before leaning close to pull Buffy into his arms. Those lips of his sought her's out, a heated yet tender kiss blossoming as the man just lost himself in her sweet embrace. At last, pulling back a touch so she could find breath again, Spike nuzzled against Buffy's neck and ear...not caring just who might see them at all. "Think I'll make us a spot of dinner tonight, pet. If you are interested? I've been watching a few cooking shows during the day, and figured preparing a meal for you was...that was something we could enjoy. Shouldn't be hard to find the ingredients here, and if you like we can even pick up some chocolate syrup and one of those sodding cans of whipped cream for dessert. Thinking a Buffy sundae would be divine."
