"You get used to them," he said. The food wasn't gross, but it definitely wasn't awesome either. You ate it because it was what there was and you didn't want to starve to death. But he certainly wasn't going to go on and on about how awesome it was.
"I grew up on Earth food," he said, because of course he did. He'd lived on a twenty-two acre ranch in Montana, which was huge by the standards of the time. They'd had fresh food from the gardens and plenty to eat that wasn't in protein packets. "But you're right, I've got to ease into it."
He'd tried to just eat everything he could find the first few days and had paid for that.
