"'Course." It was another thing that McCree would have never found himself doing a year or so ago. Taking Max with ease, he held the little guy up and grinned at him. McCree didn't make baby noises or anything at him. In fact, he usually spoke normally to him, though tried to lighten the tone of his voice. McCree knew that it could, at times, come off as quite heavy. That wasn't necessary for either Max or Ella.
"Your pick," he commented to Ella. Why not? Ella had never steered McCree in a bad direction before. She wouldn't begin now.
Bouncing little Max a bit, getting giggles and happy squawks in response, McCree took a quick look around before turning his attention back to Ella. Since the Bargast attack, McCree was far more invested in keeping his eye on everything around them.
"Thinkin' this one wants one of those cookies his Mama made." Who didn't?
