Who: Elizabeth Bennet and Usagi Tsukino If there was one good thing that came from the nightmare ordeal, it was that Elizabeth was able to commision and buy a set of actual moving targets. By wearing the specialty made bracelet, a person would have a total of twelve balls (approximately the size of those in baseball or cricket) coming at them in all directions. Only a direct hit with a weapon would cause them to cease, while dodging or deflecting would have them change course. All together, she found it an excellent way to train when she just wished to test her skill, as opposed to spare with someone. Perhaps, once the term was over, she might ask for a set that featured blades as well, but between work and studying, she would rather not lose so much focus as to accidently amputate herself. The park was as good a place as any, especially with the warmer weather and not wishing for anyone to accidentally get in the way. Her preferred weapon was always the sword, and she quickly grasped it along with her dagger as she readied herself for their assault. The balls would not come at her all at once, but two, three or even four at a time. All the while she had to dodge, block or strike at the targets to keep herself from being knocked. Never once could she let her guard down until all twelve balls were knocked onto the ground. *** Usagi did love going to the park. She wasn't sure what it was that made her feel happy. Maybe it was the birds chirping or seeing everyone enjoying the great outdoors. Whatever it was, she loved it and so she went there every day after school. Sometimes she took Luna with her, sometimes the cat stayed home. Today was the latter and Usagi arrived at the park alone. Despite so, she never felt lonely, and would always say hi to anyone she'd run into. She was friendly, always have been and always will be. As she walked, something caught her attention. A girl who seemed to be fighting against balls that seemed to move by themselves with a sword and dagger. Usagi wasn't sure what to think. "Hey! What's going on here?" she called out. *** She ducked under several coming at her before slicing at two of them coming at her side. “Afraid I cannot really talk!” *** Training? That was pretty cool. And of course, being Usagi, she kind of ignored the the girl and continued talking anyway. "Wow, that's pretty cool," she grinned. "How are those balls moving by themselves? Is it magic?" It probably was. What else could it be? Ghosts? Okay, now she was scared after she had that thought. She was absolutely terrified of ghosts. But it disappeared just as quickly when she saw the girl slice through two balls. "That was amazing!" she gasped. *** “Magic!” She didn’t so much swing her weapons but slice at the air, attacking at all angles and ducking when they were too close. “Glad you like it, but this is really a bad time to talk!” There were still five more targets to go after. They didn’t come all at once or all at the same speed, but until they were out, she wasn’t letting down. *** "That's neat!" she yelled. "I'm glad it's magic and not ghosts." She probably would've been freaking out right now if it was spirits. Usagi was a crybaby and a huge scaredy cat. Which yes, she'll be the first to admit. Not that she liked to. "Oh. Well, I'll leave you to it then," she called out. But a part of her wanted to stay, if only to see if Elizabeth could get the rest of the balls. "Or if you don't mind, I can stay. I'll just be quiet!" *** “Course it’s not ghosts!” She answered, taking more of them out. “You may stay.” One by one, the last few of the targets were deactivated. “It is just difficult to focus on conversing while things are attacking you. *** "That's good," Usagi replied to both statements. No ghosts was a good thing. So was being able to stay because she really did want to watch. "Okay, I'll be quiet. Starting... now!" She made a movement as if she was zipping her lips and remained quiet, watching Elizabeth take on the remaining moving balls. *** Only when the last few balls were on the ground did Elizabeth finally relax. The balls themselves were cheap tennis ones; they only flew at her with the placement of a sigel that matched the one on the arm band she wore. She stood up and sheathed both weapons. “Alright, now, we may talk.” *** Usagi clapped when the girl managed to get all the balls. "That was amazing!" she smiled brightly. She'd never seen such skill before. Well, her fellow Senshi had amazing skills too but so did this woman. "Where'd you learn to do that?" she asked. Then she realized something. "Oh! I'm Usagi, by the way." *** “My name is Elizabeth Bennet,” She answered, acknowledging her with the slight bow of her head. “And I learned from the Shaolin temple in China. However,” She paused. “If you mean the targets themselves, I commissioned them from one of the managers at the magic shop.” “Do you posses any combat training?” From her reaction, she doubted it. On the other hand, she might have some and was likely still mastering her abilities? *** "No," Usagi shook her head. "I've fought monsters before but I never had any training. It's probably a good thing too." She thought back to her battles, most of which had her falling on her butt or tripping or something that ended up hurting herself. She'd defeated the monsters, but if it wasn't for her friends, she probably wouldn't have been able to do so alone. *** “Are you one of those skilled in magic?” That was the only way she could figure someone would fight monsters without any combat training. “I would indeed think so, just something to fall back on after all.” She found herself studying the young woman. “I could train you, if you wish. I should forewarn that accepting would mean a strict schedule and discipline.” *** "Something like that, yes," Usagi responded. All the Senshi were. Really, Makoto was the only one who she'd say can do hand to hand combat. She did considered it for a moment. But then she had to ask, "Does that mean I'll have to get up really early?" *** “Of course, it is the only time of day to get anything done, especially in the summer before it gets too hot.” She studied Usagi’s face and felt herself smirk. “Rest assured, you will wake up in time.” She was already considering just how to begin. “Say you consent to this, first lesson will be,” She frowned. “Bother, it won’t be till the weekend after examinations. But I will definitely contact you prior.” She collected her things, before acknowledging her with a bow. “Good afternoon, Ms. Usagi.”

“Training!” She could only afford the girl a look from the corner of her eyes, her attention all the remaining on the seven targets still flying at her. Until they were all down, she couldn’t afford to even let her guard down the slightest.
