Most people I know at home are...I don't know if open is the right thing to say, but they don't try to make some big mystery out of it. At my school we learnt about it fairly young in biology class.
When she got married Susan was still working and she didn't want to leave her job. It's not like she had to be at home because we couldn't afford - Alice and I had nannies, and then I had my tutors after school, and there were always people employed to do all the domestic stuff.
I'm not ever going to give up my life for a man. Not if someone expects it and not by falling into it. It is stupid when a woman has her own talents and wastes them. I'd say the same about a man giving up his work for his wife so it's not even about gender really.
