Jill was glad to get back to normal with things. With everything. That meant school, work, just being who she was. And who she was? Was a girl who liked to shop. Sometimes she went with her friends and sometimes she went alone. Today? Was an alone day.
She'd spent the better part of an hour in Green Roof Treasures poking at some of the clothing and the jewelry; they got some really funky stuff in sometimes and she liked just poking around to see what she could find that she might be able to repurpose. She'd put together some interesting outfits that way. She'd also wasted the better part of hours that way, too. And today she was into hour two before she saw a familiar face.
Buffy.
Damn it. Jill had thought she was past the pain that thinking of Buffy used to bring, the slight prick of tears that sometimes came when she remembered the way Buffy had taught her basic self-defense. The way there'd been so many things between them, so many things they'd done and so many in-jokes. But that was how this place was, sometimes it sent them home and then brought them back, fresh and different and new. Jill knew it'd been weird for Buffy, was probably still weird for her sometimes, in those little random moments, so she kept avoiding her. Kept never approaching her, even when she wanted nothing more than to go "We used to be friends when you were here a long time ago, and I keep wanting to just say hi, so... hi."
She took a deep breath and set a necklace down, edging out of the way. Unfortunately, she was more focused on getting out of the store than she was on not running into Buffy... and so she actually ran into Buffy.
