The entire situation was unsettling. Mal didn't consider herself a hero, but she could show an apt amount of bravery when necessary.
This was one of those times. Perhaps this was a good thing, though. Mal had plenty of pent up anger and rage to take out given the events she had gone through since arriving in Madison Valley. Sure her magic could be on the dangerously cute level, but she could be just as wicked and evil as her mother when pushed.
