Who: Castiel and Stella. What: Stella and Castiel meet When: The morning after this. Where: Blake and Stella's apartment. Warnings: None. Status: Closed | Completed GDoc
While Castiel choose not to sleep, he didn't need to, that didn't mean he couldn't sleep. He'd slept a little, after Blake had fallen asleep. Now it was morning, and Blake was still asleep. Castiel decided that he should be nice and make the man some coffee for when he woke. If he could figure out the coffee pot.
He pulled on the boxers he'd been wearing the night before, and padded into the kitchen. He found the coffee, the filters, the coffee pot. Now he only needed to figure out how to put these three things together to make a pot of coffee.
Luckily, the container of coffee gave brewing suggestions, and Castiel felt pleased when he was able to follow the directions. He leaned against the kitchen counter, waiting for the coffee to brew. No, Castiel didn't drink coffee. He didn't drink or eat, he didn't like the flavor much. All be tasted were the molecules, not the proper combination of flavors.
All he would drink was booze.
*** Stella had spent the night… out. She looked tired as she let herself back into the apartment. She stretched and kicked her shoes off at the door then looked up.
“Oh, sorry. I hope I'm not interrupting.” That would be awkward. Though she was used to walking into an apartment with one of Blake's boyfriends around so she wasn't embarrassed by it or anything.
She hung up her coat.”you must be Castiel” she said as she padded into the kitchen to get orange juice out.
***
He looked toward the door when be heard it open. He'd forgotten Stella was due back this morning. He likely would have put on proper clothing, had he'd remembered. But it was too late to worry about that now, she was home. And he was in the kitchen making coffee, in his boxers.
“You must be Stella.” Way to State the obvious, Castiel. “I was just attempting to make some coffee. I don't drink it myself, so I'd never made it before…”
He shook his head at her first statement, “You're not interrupting anything. Blake is still asleep. I don't usually sleep, and when I do, it's not for long.”
*** Stella walked over from the fridge and checked the coffee machine. She smirked, then, filled the back with water. “You forgot that.” She wasn't phased. It was only a guy. She'd been around enough to just brush it off.
“Yep I'm Stella.” She grinned getting out a mug for Blake and all the usual fixings. “Don't worry about it.” She smiled as she went back to grabbing her own juice.
“You guys have fun?” Stella snickered as she grabbed a banana off its hook. She had no shame.
***
Castiel watched Stella closely as she checked the coffee maker, then looked a bit sheepish. Of course he'd forgotten something as simple as the water. But, then again, he'd never made it before. He was likely to forget something.
“At least you know what he likes in his coffee. I didn't even know where the coffee mugs were.”
He looked toward Stella when she asked if they'd had fun. She seemed to already know the answer to her question. “We did, yes.” As if that wasn't obvious. He was wearing only boxers, the day after his date with Blake. In Blake's apartment.
“We had drinks,” he offered, then decided she could figure it the rest on her own.
*** Stella liked to tease Blake's boyfriends. It was mostly out of love for Blake. She had to make sure the guy was good enough for her best friend. If that meant testing him, well so be it.
“Good I'm glad.” She was too. Blake deserved some fun in his life.
“Well you'll learn. Both Blake and I are pretty good about staying organized.” She offered as she leaned on the counter, peeling the banana. “Tell me about yourself.” It wasn't a question. Stella was curious about all this.
***
Castiel remained quiet for a moment, considering her question. Or not question. He wasn't very good with talking about himself, but he had a feeling Stella wouldn't take that as an answer. It would seem like avoidance.
“I'm Castiel,” he offered. “But you already knew that. I'm an angel, and I've been in Madison Valley since before Thanksgiving. I live with Sam Winchester, he's from my world. So is his brother, Dean.” He sighed softly, trying to think of something to tell her. “The Winchesters and I were trying to stop the apocalypse, when I arrived here. I suppose you could say I work with them.”
He really wasn’t very good at this. “I'm still learning what it means to be human. I have the ability to be quite awkward.” At least he could admit that.
*** Stella took a bite of her banana, then nodded. “That wasn't awkward. For someone who's awkward that was pretty solid.” She smiled warmly, Stella child be downright terrifying when she wanted to be but not right now.
“Noble goal, trying to stop the apocalypse.” She mused for a moment before finishing her breakfast. “You seem honest.” She tossed her peel into the compost bin. “Good. Blake doesn't need anymore fake people in his life. He's been through enough of that.”
She fixed Cas with one of her looks. “Whatever your intentions are, long term or just fun, I don't care as long as you're open about that to him. If you aren't, you'll find me a lot tougher than I look.”
****
There was a small smile from Castiel at Stella's words. She seemed nice, he could understand why Blake was friends with her. “Just because I am not awkward right now does not mean I'm not usually.” He nodded at this, then arched an eyebrow at her next words.
“I can assure you that I do not have the slightest idea of how to lead someone on, Stella. And even if I did, it is not in my nature to do so.”
All he knew was that he liked Blake, and that he wanted nothing more than to spend more time with the man. And he told her as much. “It is not my intention for this to be just fun,” he admitted. Yes, he'd had fun with Blake the night before, but he found he wanted more than that.
*** Stella watched and listened as he spoke. She really find him earnest and that was kind of refreshing..”I believe you. Just know he's my best friend, I'll do anything for him. I've done a lot for him. I'm not afraid to do so.”
She finished her glass of juice, “If you two agree on just fun, that's fine too, but he's been hurt an awful lot and I just want him happy and treated well. He'll give his all for someone.”
She set her glass in the dishwasher. “Go drag him out of bed. He's got rehearsal in two hours and probably needs a shower.” She grinned.
***
Castiel nodded at Stella’s statement, “I understand that. I am not planning on hurting him in the slightest. No matter what we decide, whether it be just fun or more serious.” He smiled at Stella, and grabbed the cup of coffee to bring to Blake.
“He quite possibly needs a shower. I’m not taking blame for that one, though, Blake was very active in the need of a shower.”
And with that, he headed out of the kitchen with the mug of coffee to go rouse Blake.
