Who: Dwight Hendrickson and Pepper Potts When: Thursday March 1; Late Morning Where: Their house What: Picking up some pieces Warnings: TBD Status: Closed/In-Progress
The past few days had been exhausting on so many levels. Enough so that when Dwight woke up to an empty bed, he wasn't sure what to think. It took a minute for his head to fully clear. Believing his daughter was alive, but not being able to find her? It was like he had lost her all over again. Paired with waking up without Pepper beside him? It was, quite possibly, one of the worst mornings he had faced in a long time.
Still, Dwight dragged himself out of bed. He showered, dressed, went about his normal routine, and was sitting at the breakfast nook table. The house was uncomfortably quiet. Even putting on some of his favorite classic rock stations at a quiet level didn't help. It was too still and too clear that much was missing.
His Cheerios were dumped down the garbage disposal with a lack of an appetite. He'd likely stop and get something at the coffee shop on his way to work. Did he even have work today? He had gone to the office earlier in the week because of reminders of client appointments on his calendar. Nothing came of them of course. It was likely it would be the same today. Dwight had half a mind to call Derek, but he wasn't sure how he would be after everything. He wasn't sure how anyone would be.
Tossing the phone onto the counter with a heavy sigh, Dwight moved to the coffee maker to start brewing a pot.
