Working at the shop had both become wonderful and hard for Ere, she liked adventure and hard work, and the shop was not that. But she also found it a refuge from her training, so she did enjoy that aspect of it too. Eretria had come into the shop early on Saturday, and was working on cleaning up what flowers were still alive and what ones needed Sarissa’s help later. She made her way over towards Sarsissa with a handful of them and was beginning to say something when the spell hit, and she collapsed at her feet, flowers strewn around them. ***
That was what Sarissa woke up to, having been hit by the same spell: flowers strewn all over the floor, an unconscious woman in the midst of it, a steady but silent presence in her head...and absolutely no memory of how she got there.
She got up quickly, and as she did so, the fallen flowers scattered out of her way.
She barely noticed, her concern more on the woman on the floor.
“Hello? Are you all right?” She reached out to check the woman’s breath.
*** Eretria sat up, and blinked. “Yeah. I'm okay. I'm good. Are you okay? Who are you?” Butt she could feel the power. She just didn't know what it was.
“Ow, my head, I must have smacked it on the floor..where are we?” She took in a deep breath.
***
“It looks like a flower shop.”
Sarissa rose to her feet. Instinctively she waved her hand - and the fallen petals returned to their places on the stem. Every plant in the shop seemed to come to attention, awaiting orders.
Good. This was as it should be.
She might not know her name, but she did know this: she was the ruler of these plants and those beyond, and the animals and life that depended on them. She could feel the power course through her blood, unsuppressed, and the little flower shop lit up in a blaze of sunlight.
She turned to the woman, her previously brown eyes a glowing green. “I think someone’s played a trick on us. Let’s find out who.”
*** As the Lady stood, Eretria felt something settle on her like a weight. As the woman's energy washed over her she felt herself unable to resist, letting the mantle settle on her shoulders. She rose to a knee.
A little taste of Summer slid through her veins, finding the Druid in her blood, touched the darkness there and decided. The power seemed satisfied with it, and without knowing who or what she was, Ere settled into the role of Summer Knight without even realizing it. “Of course, My Lady. No one plays tricks on you.” She moved easily, getting up, rejuvenated by the power of Summer.
She moved to open the door for her Lady. “Let us find out what is going on so I may assist you as you require” she might not have a name but she didn't need it.

Outside, people walked around in confusion. Some were crying; some were gleefully kicking up a fuss; some just looked lost. Sarissa felt none of those emotions. She felt apart and part of this world all at once. She was connected to the trees and the flowers sleeping under the soil and the trillions of bacteria living in each and every body out there. But at the same time, she was separated from the earth through the asphalt and concrete under her feet.
“Come,” she commanded of her Knight. “We must find a clearing. All this concrete is interfering with my senses.”
*** Ere wasted no time. “Of course, my Lady.” She felt for the Earth, not knowing she was, and nodded..”this way my Lady.” She moved quickly keeping pace as she led them towards the park where there was clear earth for her Lady.

Sarissa followed, trusting in the instincts of her Knight.
Once they made their way to the park, she released a sigh of contentment. Yes, this was better.
She kicked off her shoes (why was she wearing shoes?) and let her feet sink into the snow-covered ground.
Instantly the snow under her feet melted; and a warm rustle of summer wind swept through the park, turning bare, skeletal tree branches into lush boughs heavy with leaves and fruit. The very air around them warmed, heated by the brightness that recalled the summer sun.
“That’s better,” she said with satisfaction.
She turned to Eretria. “Now, go forth, my Knight, and find the cause for this disruption. I shall send some of my subjects to assist you.”
*** Eretria bowed to her Lady. “As you wish my Lady.” she took the moment to bask in the warmth her Lady brought, first, the warm lush signs of summer in the middle of winter felt wonderful to her. She felt a little weakened by the Winter’s grasp.
But Spring was coming and on it’s heels, Summer, which meant she’d only get stronger.
“Anything else I can do for you, my Lady, before I go find the cause of this?” she asked, carefully, she wasn’t one to needlessly ask but she wanted to make sure her Lady was comfortable before she took off. She wasn’t worried about her being hurt, somehow she just knew that she would be fine.
But she just wanted to make sure.

She had a good Knight. Sarissa may not remember her, but she liked her already. She had a sense that they worked very well together, back when they had their memories. Sarissa was going to have to make sure to retrieve them.
She smiled at her Knight - the first since waking up. It was as warm and bright as a sunbeam.
