Who: John Sheppard and Hiccup
When: Saturday
Where: Around town
What: No memories
Rating/Warnings: TBD but probably not
Status: Closed/Ongoing

He had no idea who he was. That was scary enough but as he walked around the town he didn't know the name of he saw others also wandering and looking lost, some looked scared, others wary and scuttled away from anyone approaching them. Whatever was going on it wasn't just him and that was probably the worst thing since he couldn't even ask anyone for help.

He had a wallet so he knew that his name was John Sheppard. He had an ID that said Madison Valley and had an address on it. But since he didn't know where he was the address didn't do him much good at the moment. At least he had some money in the wallet in case he needed it. But he wasn't sure what he would need it for.

Since he didn't have any real destination in mind he just started walking, hoping that his memory would return or something would make sense to him.

He had no idea who he was or where he was. Everything seemed to be in a language that he couldn't understand, not really. Some words made sense, others just looked like scribbles, and it was so frustrating to not know anything or anyone, not even himself. He had tried asking for help multiple times, but no one seemed to understand him and that just made them afraid of him. It was devastating and the last person he'd tried to ask for help started hitting him with her purse!

He very quickly moved in the opposite direction of her and rubbed at his upper arm. "That's just not right. Who hits someone trying to ask for help?" he said, assuming it was to himself because no one would understand him. "I have no idea who I am, where I am, or even what anyone is saying because somehow I don't speak or understand the same way as everyone else?" That hadn't ever happened to him before, at least he didn't think so. "But sure, just hit me. Not like I could tell you to stop or anything. Never mind that I'd never actually hurt anyone or anything. I mean, I don't think I would, anyway. How would I know?"

This whole situation was so screwed up.

Seeing someone who got swatted with a purse gave him something to focus on. John moved in that direction to see if he and the woman who had hit him were okay. The woman had stalked off muttering under her breath so he assumed she was fine.

"Are you okay? Why did she hit you?" To him the young man was understandable, not that he knew why or that it was a problem for other people. "You sound like you might be in the same boat I am with the memory thing."

"She didn't understand that I was asking for help!" he complained loudly and without thought. "My arm freaking hurts and it's really not fair. I just want to know where I am, who I am, and why I can't understand anyone." It dawned on him then that he could understand this guy.

"Wait. We're talking! You and me!" That was awesome! His face fell though when the guy mentioned having memory troubles. "You don't know who you are either? This is seriously awful. Do you at least know where we are?" He was hopeful that he could get at least one answer.

"People seem to be a little on edge right now so maybe she's just having a bad day." He chuckled slightly feeling like the woman had probably ran into a bunch of other weird things with the memories and that had probably ended up with him getting hit.

"Yeah, we're talking." He was amused at the reaction. It seemed like normal talking to him so he had no idea. "No, well my driver's license says I'm John Sheppard and that I live in Madison Valley but that's all I've got. You don't know your name or anything either?"

"Maybe," he agreed. He'd certainly been having a pretty terrible day. When the guy introduced himself and said he lived in Madison Valley, that at least gave him a starting point. "I don't know what a driver's license is but all I have is this." He pulled out a piece of plastic that he couldn't read and handed it over.

"This is all I had on me, but I can't read it. I don't know what it says." It was really annoying and awful and just frustrating in the most complete way. "I don't know why, but you're the only one who's been able to talk to me so it's...it's nice. Nice to meet you, John."

"Let me see." He took the ID, not a driver's license just an ID but it was still official. Of course once he read the name he had to re-read it a couple times and make sure that his eyes weren't playing tricks on him.

"Well it says your name is Hiccup Haddock." Even without having his memory John was fairly sure that it was the weirdest name he'd ever heard. "I'm not sure why I'm different but I'm glad I can talk to you too. It had to be horrible to not be able to communicate with anyone. Especially if they were hitting you with their purses."

“Hiccup Haddock.” He repeated it because it sounded so weird. That wasn’t a normal name, was it? Well, at least he had a name now. Plus, he had someone to talk to. That was good.

“I don’t know why I can’t talk to anyone either. Sometimes I can understand a word here or there, but it’s hard when no one gives me the time of day or attacks me.” It really sucked, but that wasn’t this guy’s fault. “Would it...I mean, if it isn’t a bother or anything, could I just walk around with you for a while?”

"Sure. I mean I was just walking and trying to figure out what I was going to do. It wouldn't hurt to have company while I try to figure things out." He didn't want to leave Hiccup without anyone to talk to. He didn't like being by himself either. He could do it but he thought he would like having someone with him.

"Maybe we can figure out a plan together."

Hiccup appreciated that he could tag along. He'd fully understand if John didn't want him to hang around, but he did and now at least he got to spend time with someone who understood what he was saying.

"Sure, yea, absolutely. I want to help. I just..." he trailed off and shrugged. "There's only so much I can do without knowing anything about this place or being able to communicate with people." He was really bummed about that, but maybe things would get better now. "I promise I won't get in the way or anything."

[ooc: and wrap on yours?]
