Who: Cameron Mitchell and Lucas Friar What: Teenage Angst When: Thursday night Where: Their house Warnings: TBD Status: Closed/On-going
Cameron had noticed something up. Lucas had come home last night in pretty much the worst mood Cameron could remember seeing him in. It wasn’t like him, but at first he’d decided to just brush it off as teenagers being moody. He’d been there once, he remembered what it was like to just be mad about nothing in particular, he figured it would go away by morning. It hadn’t, the kid was still off, and so Cameron had resolved to talk to him about it.
Talking about it took a little longer than he’d meant it to, but a little while after cleaning up from dinner, after telling Melinda that he suspected something was going on, couldn’t tell her what he feared it might be without revealing that he’d been out shopping for a ring for her, he slipped upstairs to knock on Lucas’ door.
“Hey, man. You want to talk about whatever’s going on?”
Making himself available, he was sure, was all it was going to take. Lucas was quick to share most of the time. Hopefully it wouldn’t take much prying. Cameron did not want to pry. He wasn’t that kind of parent. He gave his kid space and trust and so far that had been working for them.
