Belle ducked her head a bit, laughing softly in spite of the situation--because as unsure as everything was right now, his familiar way of speaking still made something warm and tingle in her chest, and even if these words reminded her a bit too much of his mocking her for playing the 'hero', they still touched her in a way she couldn't quite explain.
"Well, I'm not sure yet. The Council doesn't seem to care much for those of us who are simply siding with the people on their lists, not yet, but--that could change tomorrow for all we know. But...I think I've made the right choice. At least, I believe the other people--who've made up their minds to do the same know what they're doing, and aren't going to rush into anything without careful thought. I--don't think we're in any danger, but even if we were...I think I'd still do the same thing. I couldn't just sit back and do nothing," she lifted her head a bit, to meet his eyes, smiling a little nervously. "Especially not now. Besides, I've done far more reckless things than--sleeping in a church."Not just going with him--she'd have to tell him about what had happened with Philip, what had led her to deciding to return to him and winding up in Regina's clutches...but not now. She'd seen the way his eyes darkened at the slightest mention of her imprisonment, she didn't want to dredge it up again if it wasn't necessary.
