It was true that Ian didn't normally shop in stores like this. He was used to shopping at Walmart or thrift stores. He had more money for clothes here than he did back home, but he still didn't like to waste it on overpriced designer crap.
Except during that period before the holidays when he'd been so happy and energetic all the time. He'd wasted a ton of money then. He'd blown most of his savings on a car that didn't run, and the rest on expensive winter clothes because he "needed" them. The most expensive was a nice leather jacket, which he'd brought back to this store to see if he could return it. He couldn't, obviously, for a bunch of reasons (it had been more than 30 days, he'd taken the tags off and worn it outside, etc). So he still had the jacket with him in a shopping bag, as if he'd just bought it.
He suppressed a groan when he heard Sebastian's voice. He did not want to deal with that asshole now. He turned around to face him. "I'm surprised you can afford to shop here either. Hasn't your money run out?"
