Marina didn't remember the last time she'd been so happy. Maybe she never had been. She'd certainly never had much reason to be, since she'd spent most of her childhood on the run, simply trying to stay alive. It hadn't been easy, and it certainly hadn't been happy. She'd always felt alien (literally) in her surroundings, and had never really been able to get close to anyone, or to trust anyone. She'd always felt strange...and separate.
Here in Madison Valley, though, it was different. There were a lot of people here who had abilities, and even better, nobody was trying to kill them. For the first time in her life, she could be who she was without fear. She didn't have to hide here.
And on top of all of that, she'd found Adam. After Eight, she didn't think she had it in her to care about anyone again, but Madison Valley had given her that chance, too.
She was outside today, enjoying the cold. She was also practicing her powers, trying to see if she could do the delicate, pretty sort of things that Elsa did, instead of the daggers and weapons she more frequently (and more easily) made out of ice.
Suddenly she gasped in delight as she did it! A perfect, beauitufl snowflake appeared in front of her, hovering in the air.
