Who: Chris Argent and Isaac Lahey What: Hungover conversations are the best kind When: Wednesday morning Where: The house Warnings: TBA Status: Closed/On-going
It wouldn't have been the first time Chris went to work with a hangover -- and not even the first time in Madison Valley, thanks to a certain revolving door -- and it probably wouldn't have been the last, but with Isaac there? Chris had called off work and gotten somebody else to handle his Guardian shift. He wasn't going to come off as playing the avoidance game on their first day in the same house.
Or ever, but especially not today.
It was... scary having Isaac back, he'd decided last night, somewhere between telling Jo he'd left Isaac in France and telling her that Isaac had become like a son to him. Not necessarily in the bad way, though there was an element of that. But more along the lines of, was he going to disappoint Isaac? Was he going to be able to be there for him again?
At the moment, though, Chris was more focused on the cofffee-maker than anything deep and self-examining like that. He didn't know how much it'd help his hangover, but he hadn't slept all that well so caffeine needed to be a thing. Now.
He poured himself a cup of coffee and turned away, towards the doorway, just in time to see Isaac coming into the kitchen. "... knew I'd run into you today, didn't think it'd be almost literally," he said with a tired smile. "It's... good to see you."
Just as awkward a greeting as it'd been when he'd seen Allison face-to-face, yep.
