When: Before the Free For All plot
Where: Heimr Àrnadalr
What: Gelato tasting, shop viewing, product planning!
Warnings: None!

Both Nora and Fred had gone out, either to get lunch or do some quick errands. So Weiss was the only one working at the gelato shop at the moment. Usually she worked behind the scenes, in the office doing the boring paperwork, but right now she was at the counter, selling gelato to whoever came in. Since it was winter, there wasn't many customers right now. They did sell some hot chocolate, lattes, and other hot beverages to those who wanted any.
Still, business was a bit slower than when it was warmer out. Weiss didn't blame anyone. Who'd want something cold like gelato when it was already cold out? She got to thinking and wondered if they could somehow make the gelato warm but not melt it. She wondered if Fred could do that. He made them change colors, maybe he could change the temperature too.
Maybe she'd ask when he got back. For now, though, she heard someone come in and she turned to greet them. When she recognized who it was, she smiled. "Oh, hello, Elsa. Come to check out Heimr Àrnadalr?"

Learning of the shop had sparked Elsa’s curiosity. A shop that her sister had once owned and operated that was now done so by ones she had in her care. She, of course, would have to come see it for herself.
It was quite something and Elsa had taken a few moments to take in the building itself before heading inside. There was the cheerful bell when she opened the door overhead and Elsa smiled at Weiss.
The inside was just as lovely and Elsa was quite touched by it all. “I did. It’s lovely. You have all done such a wonderful job taking care of it. Has it always looked like this?”
***
"Well, thank you," Weiss smiled, glad to hear that. She and Nora really wanted to do well by Anna. The woman had been so kind to them both, they wanted to repay her somehow. Taking over and making sure the gelato shop continued even after she had left was the least they could do.
"Yes," she replied. "There's a couple small changes here and there, but mostly, it's been the same as it's always been. We wanted to keep the same look and feel it's always had."
***
Stepping up to the counter, Elsa gleaned over the flavors. “Do you have a favorite?” Chocolate was always her flavor of choice, but being in this town and in this building, Elsa wanted to do something different. Something bold and not her at all.
There were a lot of chances for that here while still maintaining herself all the same. She gave Weiss a grin. “I hope it’s not all of them because I doubt very much I could eat that much at one time.”
***
Weiss smiled and shook her head. "No, not all of them. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the chocolate mint flavors." She liked chocolate and she liked mint, but she wasn't so sure they went good together. But other people liked it, so they sold it.
"My favorite ice cream flavor is frozen blueberry yogurt, so I decided to make a gelato one. I also like the salted caramel one we made back in the fall. For more normal flavors, strawberry, chocolate, and cookie dough are my favorites."
***
“Cookie dough? I may have to try that one as I don’t believe I’ve ever had just cookie dough.” Cookies and baked goods were one thing. Plain and raw cookie dough? Elsa was curious how that one worked and was able to be consumed.
“And you do different flavors for the different seasons? I will be so excited to try them!” She had every intention of spending as much time here as she could.
“Do you have plans for spring yet?”
***
"It's really good," Weiss told her. "Actually, if you want, you can try some now."
She nodded. "Yeah, sometimes. We had pumpkin spice and the salted caramel for the fall season. And a candy cane flavor for the winter holidays. As for plans, no, we don't have any yet." They'd all been a bit too busy. Both Weiss and Nora were attending college classes in addition to running the shop. Fred was also running his joke shop. They simply hadn't had much time to think about new flavors. But they had plenty of time before spring arrived, so at this moment, she wasn't too worried.
"I suppose you wouldn't have any ideas."
***
“I would love to.” It was fortunate that cold weather didn’t bother her. Elsa could understand why others wouldn’t want a chilly treat during this time of year. Not as often anyway. She; however, would gladly take as much as she could eat.
“Let me think on it. I will see if there are any traditional Arendelle treats that would translate well into this gelato you make.” There were so many, but even Elsa understood that flavors and textures did not always do well being made into something else.
“Arendelle’s crest does have a crocus on it. It’s a lovely, light purple-colored flower. I’m not entirely sure how colors play a part in the flavor process, but perhaps it could aid in your decisions.”
***
"Okay, I'll go get you some then. Actually, maybe I'll get myself some and we can eat together." Why not? They were the only ones in the shop right now and Weiss didn't see that changing anytime soon. She could have herself a little snack and chat with Elsa for a bit.
So she got two bowls of the cookie dough gelato and lead the way to a nearby table, handing one of the bowls to Elsa before eating some of her own. "Traditional Arendelle treats sound like a wonderful idea, especially since this place does translate to Home Arendelle." She probably would've tried to add them to the flavors in the first place if she knew about them.
"They do sometimes but not all the time. I'm not sure what flavor light purple would be, aside from grape."
***
Thanking Weiss for her bowl, Elsa took a seat and took a bite. “Oh my goodness. This is delicious! You made this? You and your friends?” If they could make something so tasty, it was possible they could make treats that were native to the business’ namesake.
“Grape is possible, yes, but perhaps we could find something else. Perhaps a surprise flavor? A sort of ‘guess the flavor’?” Elsa did enjoy those sort of surprises. You knew they were coming. You could prepare for them.
“Or you could simply turn this cookie dough purple because this is just delightful.”
***
Weiss smiled, shaking her head. "No. I mean, it's not an original of ours if that's what you mean. It's a flavor that's been around for a long time." She wasn't surprised either that Elsa liked it so much. Who didn't like cookie dough gelato/ice cream?
"That's an idea. I'm sure we could do it too. One of our employees is a wizard. He made the gelato change colors once, I'm sure he could make the flavors change." Actually they probably could do that without magic but having Fred do it seemed easier.
She grinned. "We can probably do that too."
***
“Well, I hope you keep this flavor because I’m sure it is quite popular.” Taking a few more bites as Weiss continue explaining the process, Elsa looked up at her.
“A wizard? What sort of wizard is he? I mean, I’ve heard there are many different kinds.” Magic was still a subject that was new to Arendelle with the exception of Elsa and the rock trolls, but even they were not well-known. It was more accepted now, which did make things easier.
***
"It's one of our most popular flavors," Weiss said. Which made sense because it was delicious.
She frowned a bit. "Uh, a normal, human wizard?" she shrugged. "I'm not sure. He uses a wand, though. But I think sometimes he doesn't always have to but it's advanced magic in his world."
***
“I see. Wand magic? I’ve never heard of such a thing. Perhaps I will get the chance to meet him and ask about this magic.” Given that Elsa had never been exposed to other types of of magic like here, she was eager to learn anything and everything she could.
“What about you, Weiss? Do you have magic?” Elsa hoped the young lady wouldn’t mind such a forward question. “Aside from your gelato-making and serving skills.”
