The cliche about cops and doughnuts wasn't enough to keep Amy from stopping by Horst's on Sunday morning after going to the early mass. Despite being raised Catholic, she wasn't terribly religious, but she found comfort in going to the services on occasion. Mass was mass no matter where you were and it was a touchstone of normalcy that she appreciated in the chaos this town could be.

Amy was seated at one of the small tables inside, enjoying a breakfast sandwich and coffee before heading home with some doughnuts for later. The shop was crowded since a lot of people liked to enjoy doughnuts on a Sunday morning. Most of them weren't staying though, so she didn't feel bad about taking up a table. Besides, there was an empty chair if anyone wanted to join her.

While she ate, she browsed the network on her phone and sent a few messages to Sirius to make plans for later in the week. He was fun to spend time with even though she knew there was no chance of any kind of real relationship developing between them.

Lenalee slid her way into Horst's and picked up a box of doughnuts. She wiggled her way through the horde of people before finding an open seat. She looked at the woman and smiled. "Free to share?" she gestured at the seat.

She was as strange as she probably looked - thigh high boots with crosses at the ankles, wearing a skirt and a loose shirt with a black jacket overtop. She looked like she should be cold, but right now she wasn't in the least.

Once she got the okay, she'd set her coffee and doughnuts down and flop into the seat. "Oh man, busy today"

Amy nodded since she had a mouth full of food, but she managed to chew and swallow by the time the other woman settled into the seat. She sipped her coffee to wash down the food before she responded. "It's usually like this on Sunday mornings," she said. She didn't always stop after services, but even when she simply walked past, she could see the crowds.

The outfit didn't really phase Amy. She had seen a lot like it, and way worse, in Brooklyn.

	"Where are you from?" Amy asked. There was probably a fifty/fifty chance that she wouldn't have ever heard of the place, but she was still going to ask. "Uh, England by way of China." She said lazily before waving a hand. "Though it's a weird mix of modern like here and not. We don't have a lot of things this place does. But we do have Innocence which is,I guess, a kind of magic and Akuma, which are demons."

"Only a small percentage of the population across the world can use Innocence though and I'd never been to the U.S.before. I didn't even know about states, they weren't part of my education. You??"

It sounded like she was from a very different place. Amy wondered how it would be to adjust to being here for someone who wasn't used to modern things. At least the phones and stores and everything were like what she was used to.

"The United States weren't part of your education?" she repeated. Her world must not be anything like this one or Amy's if that was the case. "I'm from New York."

"Oh they were broadly as in that over there is the United States, but we never went into detail. I never bothered to look up more info - too much to do for the European branch office and too many things to fight and train to fight. It was just another place that I wasnt going to go see."

She shrugged a little bit. "I just never needed to know and didn't until I got here. Since then I've learned a bit." she smiled a bit more then cocked her head. "New York. Fun place or?"

Amy nodded. She guessed that made some sort of sense and was intrigued by the mention of a branch office and training to fight, but realized she should probably introduce herself before they got much further into the conversation. "New York is mostly fun," she said. "And forgive me, I'm Amy Santiago."

It was still weird not to add the Detective in front of her name, but it was a meaningless title here.

	"Lenalee Lee, it's a pleasure Amy." she smiled a bit as she took another bite of her doughnut then yawned. "Ugh, okay, I should probably vacate before I fall asleep. Mornings are hard." she grinned. 	"Well, maybe I'll see you here again sometime," Amy said. "I'm usually here on Sunday mornings." She idly wondered what kind of training Lenalee did, but felt like it would be rude to ask. 	"I'm sure, this place is too good to pass up." she grinned a bit before she pushed to her feet and grabbed her things. "Have a good rest of your day, Amy!" she beamed then with a flicker on her feet, dashed out the door, moving easily through the crowd and much faster than normal. (Reply to this) (Parent)
