WHO: Sirius Black and OPEN WHAT: Being useless WHEN: Saturday WHERE: Lou's WARNINGS: Drinking STATUS: Open/Ongoing
Since Sirius had arrived in Madison Valley, he had accomplished approximately nothing. To others, this might have brought shame, or at least the creeping feeling that he should try to do something, but Sirius Black did not have to deal with the annoyance of a creeping conscience. He was raised to believe that he shouldn't have to do anything he didn't want to do. He'd been raised to see work as something that the lower orders did so that the upper classes didn't have to be burdened with such banality. And while Sirius had tried desperately to shuck his loathed upbringing during his years at Hogwarts, some ideas and attitudes simply refused to let go.
Which was why Sirius still had no job and was passing his life here mooching off James and Lily with no remorse or guilt whatsoever.
He'd slept in this morning, and before he left he'd left a list of things for Lily to pick up for him at the store.
Then he wandered around town until it was late enough for Lou's to open at which time he entered and ordered himself a pint. Despite his lack of responsibility (or perhaps because of it?) Sirius still struggled with a great deal of darkness, and sometimes alcohol was the only way to silence it.
