It had taken quite a bit of prodding and poking on Laurel's part, but she managed to convince the doctors at the clinic to let her leave. It was not without fresh bandages, some painkillers (Laurel was skipping those), and an follow up appointment to hopefully remove the stitches. The arrival at her sister's place promised more time with Sara and that made Laurel happy. It also promised a run in with a potentially grouchy roommate she'd been warned about by her sister and his brother. Apparently, she looked like someone from their home and an obviously someone they didn't particularly care for. Obviously, Laurel couldn't control who she looked like in a different world and no details other than that had been provided. Part of her wanted to ask more about it, but she felt, even through the network, it might have been a touchy subject for Sam. Not like more details would matter in this case because knowing more about that person wasn't going to be the way to convince someone that she wasn't them. Either way, the entire scenario sounded like it was going to be interesting...potentially more so than arriving mysteriously in some small Midwestern town.
With the promise to rest as much as possible and not push herself too much, Laurel was left to her own devices. For the time being, she settled on the couch, lounging in sweat pants and a baggy shirt, flipping idly through through trashy television. It was better than being in the clinic, but not by much. Laurel wanted to get up, explore the town, but even she had to admit that all of that took a lot more energy than she was capable of expelling at this moment. Being use to pain and bearing a few scars did not make you capable of healing faster unfortunately. Unlike her friend, Barry, she would be a bit on the weaker side for a while, but even knowing there were limitations, Laurel was not one to let that keep her from doing what she wanted. She knew her sister worried, especially since the last she'd heard of Laurel was her death, but it was just in Laurel's nature to push herself as hard as possible despite being injured or inapt. A good example? When she stubbornly plowed forward with being the canary even as she knew she was not on the same level as her sister or Ollie. The city needed a hero, someone to continue on fighting for justice, and to keep people safe. She might not have been the best choice, but she was determined to give it everything she had...even if she risked death.
Obviously, this situation was not as extreme, but Laurel remained stubborn and determined to do more even if it might not be in her best interest. However, for the time being, she was watching court shows and finding herself less than entertained. Did people really just watch television all day? It felt like...a waste. Then again, Laurel rarely had time to watch television lately; she'd been on the streets till recently with the others and that didn't allow for much down time. Looks like she was getting the unwanted opportunity to catch up. Oh yay.
