WHO Cassie Banner-Romanoff + Hulk
WHAT Dad's back! But not :(
WHEN As Thor is leaving here
WHERE Maria's old house/Thor's house
WARNINGS Hungover and kinda drunk teenager, spoilers fro Thor: Ragnarok possibly
STATUS Closed | Incomplete (1/15)

Cassie was avoiding going home. It was really the only logical thing to do because she was hungover and the best way to combat a hangover and the guilt that was threatening to come with it was to drink more. "In for a penny, in for a pound," she muttered to herself as she left Faith's place, a bottle of something in her hand. At this point, she wasn't going to be picky at all so long as it kept the guilt and shame and feelings away. She didn't want to feel anything anymore. Feelings just made things hurt more when they went away.

She was just wandering around town kind of aimlessly, avoiding ever facing her mom again even though they were trapped in a dome together, when she saw Thor leaving a house. He looked different, but his ass was still great so she was reasonably sure it was him. That was weird. He'd been gone too, so if he was back, maybe he had something that told her where her dad was. She wasn't going to ask Thor. He was running off to who knew where, maybe to Nora or something. Cassie honestly didn't really care. She finished off the bottle as she headed for the house. It wasn't hard at all to break in, and she pretty much just stopped in her tracks.

It wasn't hard to recognize Hulk. He was back, but he was still the Hulk. That wasn't fair. Cassie gripped the bottle tighter and fought the urge to throw it at him. She wondered if he even recognized her.

Hulk was as content as he could be when confined to a small space. Thor gave him plenty to eat and drink before running off and now he was sitting here with nothing to do until his friend came back and they could go and smash things.

It didn't startle him when he heard someone entering the house. He could tell it wasn't Thor, but whoever it was was small and he wasn't afraid that they would harm him.

"What?" he grunted when he finally looked over at the rainbow haired girl. She looked angry.

Well, that answered that question. It made it worse, but it also took some of the fight out of her. Cassie really wished the bottle wasn't empty. She could use a drink right about now. The bottle dropped from her fingers and hit the floor with a dull clunk.

"Are you okay at least? I Saw...a volcano?" She wasn't really sure exactly what she'd Seen but it was bad and even if he was invulnerable or indestructible or whatever, Cassie still wanted to make sure he was okay. If he didn't remember her, then at least he was okay. It also explained why he was hiding out instead of turning back to Bruce and coming home.

"Hulk fine."

There was some faint recognition in the back of his mind, but he immediately squashed it. He had no intention of letting Banner resurface.

It was strange that this girl didn't appear to fear him at all.

Cassie wasn't afraid of him. Even if he didn't remember her, she knew enough about the Hulk to know that he never hurt anyone without intending to and that he wouldn't intentionally hurt someone who wasn't a threat. Even if she threw something at him - and she really wanted to throw something at him - she didn't think he'd hurt her.

"Well good," she muttered. "I'm going to sit now because the room really needs to stop spinning." Cassie took a stumbling step forward and managed to end up not very gracefully laying on the floor. "Close enough." She set her hands underneath her chin to prop her head up to look at him.

"Man, you're going to hate it here. Nothing worth smashing that can be smashed."

Smashing was his favorite thing and he'd already realized there wasn't much here to smash. Hulk did look concerned when she stumbled and reached out to try and catch her, but wasn't close enough to do so.

"Rainbow girl okay?"

Cassie huffed a laugh that wasn't the least bit amused. "Rainbow girl is trashed," she replied. Well, not totally trashed anymore, just a nice constant state of not feeling things.

"See, I got brought to this stupid fucking place, right? With this guy who I thought was my friend but turned out to be a colossal dickwad. It got bad. Hulk smash level bad, okay? So bad that Uncle Suit stuck me with mom and dad. Only they weren't mom and dad until later. ANYWAY, the point is, I trusted them and this stupid place sent my dad back home. So I jumped off my nice bandwagon and drank myself stupid Saturday night. Now I can't go home because my mom's going to be both worried and mad, and I really don't want to deal with that."

She was practically yelling by the end of it but she let her head fall to the floor because she didn't want Hulk to see her cry. Cassie had let herself get soft and now she was paying the price for it.

After a moment, she sniffled and lifted her head up again, looking around. "Think Thor has anything strong to drink around here?"

Hulk was hardly the most sympathetic person, but he had seen drunk humans before and this one seemed far too tiny to be drinking. It was also clear from her yelling that she was upset. He ignored the voice of Banner that was screaming in the back of his head to let him comfort his daughter and reached out to rest his large hand on her back.

"No more drinks," he said.

Cassie didn't even flinch as he put his hand on her back. In a weird way, it comforted her. She didn't think he really cared if she drank anymore or not, but it almost felt like her dad was telling her not to drink. Either way, it was enough for her to listen.

"Fine. Thor probably doesn't have anything here that won't kill me anyway." Since he had his Ambrosia and all. She wanted to not feel but she didn't want to die to stop feeling.

Cassie didn't ask him to move or to let her go. It felt kind of nice having his hand on her back anyway. "I never thought I'd miss being on the run. It's easier if you don't have to feel."

"Hulk always angry," he said. Anger was a feeling, but it wasn't one that caused him much pain. At least not emotionally. And since he didn't really feel physical pain, it was the best option for him.

He was glad that she wasn't going to try drinking any of Thor's alcohol though. She was too small for that.

Cassie sighed. "You and me both, Hulk." She didn't call him Dad even though she wanted to, because Hulk wasn't her dad and she wasn't even sure if Bruce would remember her when he got control back. She knew she needed to tell her mom that he was back so she only lingered for a few minutes before she shifted, trusting him to move his hand when she did so.

"Alright big guy. Smack Thor around a little, would you?" Cassie figured it would be worth it even if it wasn't Thor's fault that he was this way. "I have to go." She didn't totally want to, but she knew she had to. This whole family experiment was such a waste.

"Bye." With that, she turned and all but ran out of the house. She didn't want to be there anymore.

[ooc: and wrap!]
