WHO: Carmilla and Tea
WHAT: Chatting. Mainly about tattoos but who knows what else
WHEN: Sunday afternoon
WHERE: Tattoo shop
WARNINGS: TBD
STATUS: Closed/Ongoing

Carmilla had finished her first week at work and she was tired. She never really had to work before. She had money saved from up to 300 years ago but she didn't have that money on her. So she had to get a job, which she wasn't and really still isn't too thrilled about. She did enjoy books so working at a bookstore was okay but right now, she was glad for the day off.

And what did she decide to do on her day off? Go to the tattoo shop. No, she wasn't planning on getting a tattoo. Maybe in the future, when she figured out what kind she wanted. No, she was simply going to visit Tea for a few hours.

She entered the shop, glancing around for a moment before she spotted Tea. "Hey," she greeted her.

It had been a slow day for tattoos so Tea was happy that Camilla was coming by to visit. She was at the desk working on a piece for her portfolio because if she was going to go for the next step in fine art degrees, she was going to have to have one. So far it was coming together pretty well, she would say. At the moment the piece she was working on involved spots of color here and there so show she could do more than just black and white in pencil. Out of habit, she looked up when the bell above the door dinged and she smiled when she saw it was Carmilla. "Hey" She replied as she put down her pencil and closed up her sketch pad, putting it aside. "How's the new job?"

Carmilla went over and sat on the chair across from where Tea was. "It's a job," she shrugged. "Not fun, sometimes boring but I get paid." And she really could use the money. She had started running out. She probably could've saved a bit longer, but then the dome made her go all Christmas crazy and she bought a bunch of decorations.

"How's your day going so far?" she asked.

"That's what most jobs are like" She commented as she reached for her drink to take a sip. She'd gotten so into what she was doing that she'd forgotten to drink. Whoops. After taking a long and refreshing drink, she set it own and put her focus on the hot vampire in front of her. "It hasn't been too bad. I had an appointment this morning about that was about it"

Carmilla nodded. Jobs could indeed be boring, unless it was something you loved doing. Carmilla did enjoy books on occassion, so while sometimes she was bored at work, she wasn't always.

"And now you get to chill," she grinned, laughing a bit because she hardly ever used the word 'chill'. "How long have you been a tattoo artist?"

"You've never used that word, have you?" She asked with a bit of a grin herself as she sat back in her chair and got comfortable. "I was an intern for three months last summer then I was hired on to work for pay when two of my coworkers got sent home. I'm not experienced as I should be but I'm learning on the job and getting better"

Carmilla laughed and shook her head. "Nah, not usually. I just don't really care for today's slang," she shrugged. Probably because she was born in the 1600s. As much as she was used to current things (because she had to fit in somehow), sometimes she reverted back to the old ways.

"I would be nervous if I suddenly got the job just like that, without much experience." Especially with sometime as permanent as tattoos. "So which ones are yours?" she asked, pointing to the wall where several pictures of tattoos were hanging.

"Was there any slang back when you were human?" She wondered, curious what life was like back then. History was much more interesting when she could talk someone actually from history. If every history class was like that then she would have paid more attention in high school.

"I've been doing a lot of practicing on fruit" She told her with a shrug of her shoulders. Fruit was different than human skin but it made her feel more confident in what she could do. Her boss believing in her really helped too. When Carmilla asked which ones were hers, she stood up from the desk and began pointing some out

"Yeah. But it was a long time ago and I've forgotten most of them," Carmilla shrugged. She didn't really care. That was a long time ago and it was her old life. Not that her new life had been great. Actually it had been quite terrible. But she was trying to live in the here and now, trying to focus on the good things.

"Must've been a lot of fruit," she said. She followed Tea as the other girl showed her the work she'd done so far. "You're really talented," she told her, amazed by the artwork.

Tea just nodded her head and didn't ask any more about it, considering that part of the conversation over. "It's a good thing Kenny likes oranges" She told her with a laugh, remembering how many oranges they had in their house at one point. It had been enough that they had orange juice most mornings for weeks. "Thank you. I've been completely self taught until I started taking college classes. I prefer to draw people but I like getting to step outside the box and draw other things too"
