Sunday was here, and Bobby was looking forward to this evening with Dagny. She was smart, funny, and sexy. And she made him smile.
He was hoping they could have a nice hangout evening. A little shopping, a little fooding, a little Netflix and chill-ing. Bobby wasn't sure if that meant more than chill tonight. Understanding women was not always easy.
Either way, he would be happy.
ArrivIng at her door, he knocked.
***
This was Dagny’s first follow up from speed dating and she was excited to hang out with Bobby again. She loved talking to the guy, especially after their little video chat the other night. For her, the chilling in Netflix and chill actually meant chilling this time. It just a fun phrase to say so she couldn’t help herself.
She decided to wear a dress that night to make it easier on herself when trying on clothes. That and she looked dang cute in it so why not? She had clothes in her bag to put on later once they got back to Bobby’s place. She couldn’t very well flop in a dress, could she? Of course not!
“Got it! See you guys later” She called out to her roomies when she heard the knock on the door. Grabbing her bag, she checked herself over one more time then opened the door with a smile. “Heeey. Ready to go?”
***
She looked great and Bobby smiled as he saw her, offering her a hand. “Absolutely. I even brought my car this time so we would have a place to put clothing you got.” He grinned at her. He wanted this to be a fun night.
He led the way toward the car, grinning. “Where do you want to hit first?”
***
“Whipping out the big guns! Dagny likey” She told him with a grin on her own as she followed after him. She gave a nod of appreciation to what his car looked like then she got in and got settled. “Let’s hit the shops downtown. I feel like I always go the mall to shop” She actually didn’t shop all that often but when she did, it was usually the mall. She never gave downtime the love it deserved unless she was there to eat.
***
Bobby chuckled and poked her lightly. She looked very nice and he was glad she was in a good mood. He was hoping to make it a good night.
He slid in and started the car up, listening. He had thoughts on what she said and nodded as he chuckled. “Downtown parking lot it is, then.” he smirked as he sent them arrowing down the road, glancing over at her.
“There are some good ones down there.”
He nodded. “How’ve you been?”
***
“Let’s see your parallel parking skills” She teased, giving him a smile before she looked out the window to watch the scenery a little bit as they talked. “Pretty good” She replied with a shrug of her shoulders. “I went to that movie and PJ thing last night. I didn’t get much sleep so I’m actually glad we decided to do this later in the day” She told him with a bit of a laugh as she looked over at him. “I don’t think this body liked staying up all night”
***
“I’ll have you know I can park quite well, young lady,” Bobby smirked at her and drove, talking to her as he did so. “Just sit back and enjoy.”
He smirked over at her as he did so. “Yeah? I’m sorry you didn’t get sleep. And that is a shame. It seems like a body that one would enjoy keeping up.”
***
“We’ll see” She teased, doing just as he said. It was nice being driven around in a car rather than the local public transport. She really needed to get a car of her own at some point. “You’d think so but I’m not a teenager anymore,” She told him with a small laugh. It’s been nearly a year since her arrival and she’d been through three stages so far. She could definitely feel it. “How about we eat first?” She wondered, smelling all the food as soon as they got out. Well, now she was hungry.
***
“Sounds perfect.” He offered her his hand, smiling. “No, now you are a gorgeous young woman, and out and about with a friend.” He grinned at her. “The steak and fries place is just over here, if you want something quick?”
***
When he offered his hand, she smiled and took it, giving him a kiss on the cheek before they began walking. “You are good for my ego. I think I’ll keep you around” She told him before she nodded her head. “That sounds great. Lead the day” She replied, giving his hand a squeeze. “So have you met up with any of your other speed dates again or am I special?”
***
Bobby grinned at her. “I have not. You are special.” and it was true. He would likely meet up with one more, but that was all, and that was… he was not sure it was anything special, really. He was never sure about Amy. Tonight, however, he was happy to be out with Dagny. She made him grin a lot.
IN Russian, he spoke. “You are magnificent. Have you taken out any of your speed date friends?”
***
“Sweet” She replied with a grin when he gave her the answer she was hoping for. Of course, she would have been cool if he said yes. She wasn’t one to get upset about that kind of thing. She smiled when he spoke in Russian and called her magnificent. It sounded better to her in her second language then her first for some reason. “I have not. You’re the first one” She replied, speaking Russian herself. “And I’m glad because you were the one that stood out the most.”
***
Bobby smiled softly at her. At the door, he held it for her, grinning, and soon they were seated, with the menus bring presented. Bobby grinned at her as the waiter left. “Would you like some wine?“
It was sometimes nice to indulge and since they were walking to the stores, it wouldn’t be a problem.
***
Dagny looked around the place as they walked in, as she’d never been there before. The smells hit her even more and her stomach growled as she sat down and began looking at the menu. At the mention of wine, she looked over the top of her menu at him with a smell. “Hell yeah, I do” Wine wasn’t something she had often so it would be a nice treat.
***
“Excellent,” he ordered wine for them, and then looked at her across the menus, grinning. “You look amazing, this evening.” And she did, it was true.
She was kind of cute.
***
“Thank you” She told him with a smile. They continued to flirt and chat the rest of the meal, both in English and Russian, and soon they were both finished. Grabbing her glass, Dagny took one lap sip and set it down. “Ready to head out?” She asked as she pushed her plate away and wiped her mouth. She felt much better now that she’s eaten and now she was ready to shop!
***
“Absolutely.” The meal and the company had been fun, and he was ready to stretch his legs. He grinned as eh rose and extended a hand to her.
“Shall we go conquer the shopping walk?” With the number of shops in the one area, you almost didn’t have to go anywhere else.
***
“We shall” She replied, reaching out for his hand with a smile. Once he had it, she swung their hands a little bit as they walked out onto the street. “This is my first time experiencing this time of the year. It’s so beautiful with all of the lights” She told him, looking around a little bit as they walked.
***
Walking along, he grinned as they swung hands and ambled down the street. “Yeah? It really is. They do a great job down here. Making it almost as pretty as you.” he grinned warmly.
Flirting was fun.
***
“I think I’ll keep you” She joked, bumping her shoulder with his. Even if this didn’t go anywhere, she knew she would have him as a friend and she was happy with that. She loved having someone to talk Russian with. “Let’s try there first” She commented, nodding to a nearby store that caught her eye.
***
Bobby chuckled. He bumped her back, gently, She was a good person and hot, and whatever happened, he was glad to know her. He smirked at her as they walked.
“Alright! Inward we go!”
And he led the charge inside, peering around for things of interest, or that were shiny.
***
A few shops and fashion shows later, Dagny had everything she felt she would need to get her through a few months as an adult. They walked out of the last shop with Bobby carrying everything despite Dagny offering to help. It was very kind of him. “After all of that, I’m more than ready to Netflix and chill” She told him with a small laugh as she walked beside him. “And by chill I mean just chill. I don’t mean you know … bow chicka bow bow” She sang the last part while looking over at him.
***
Bobby laughed. He had enjoyed the fashion shows and the shops, and had bought a few things for Dagny, for Kitty, and for Jean, as well as for himself. Bobby was good at carrying and he grinned at her over his things.
“I understand. I’m always willing to chill with you. I even have cookies sitting out and cool by now at home, so we have snacks.” he nodded.
***
“You are like the most perfect date ever!” She exclaimed, leaning over to kiss his cheek as they headed back to his car. “What kind did you make?” She wondered, opening the back door for him because he didn’t have a free hand to do it himself. “And is there milk? Gotta have milk when there are cookies”
***
“I’m glad you think so.” Bobby flushed red, but shook his head as he slid the presents into the car carefully, then closed the back and slid into the front. “Chocolate chip, brownie, and oatmeal chocolate chip.” He grinned at her. “I love cookies. Can’t cook very well anything else, but I love cookies.”
“There is always milk, yes.” He chuckled.
“Let's go home.”
And he started the car.
***
“Mmmm. I can’t wait to eat them” She told him as she got her seat back on and settled back for the ride. After a day of shopping, cookies and milk sounded pretty good at her right now. “I can’t cook either. I grew up on take out” She commented with a laugh as the car started going.
Soon they were at his place and she was helping him get all of the bags out. “After you,” She told him, gesturing for him to lead the way to the door.
***
Bobby smiled as they got to his place and he led the way in. Opening his door, he kicked it open and led the way further to his bedroom, depositing the bags around the bed. “Come in!”
His room was nicely furnished, quiet colors, and with a large bed, a desk, a bureau, and a couple of chairs. A television sat over the bureau where it could be seen easily.
“Welcome to my humble abode.”
***
As they walked in, she looked around to get a better sense of him and just before walking into his room, she kicked her shoes off. Wondering why she had worn heels, she plopped down on his bed and made herself at home where the bags weren’t. “It suits you” She decided as she laid back. “Bring on the cookies and milk!”
***
He chuckled and went to the kitchen, grabbing a container of cookies and making two glasses of milk, then joining her in the room again, kicking the door shut behind him.
“Here you go, milk for you, and cookies for all!” he flopped on the other side, pushing some bags gently to the floor, then grinning at her. He grabbed the remote and pulled it up on the main screen and handed it over to Dagny.
“Lady’s choice. What shall we watch?” he nabbed a cookie as he did so. He was sure it would be a fun evening.
***
While he went and got everything, she changed into her comfortable clothes, which was just a hoodie and a pair of pj pants. “Yes!” Reaching out for the cookies, she grabbed one and nibbled on it as she looked through what was on the streaming service. “The Babysitter. I’m in the mood for something scary” She told him as she licked on it.
***
“You got it, beautiful.” Bobby chuckled and waved a hand at her. “The controls are your. Let it begin.”
He eyed her ensemble and grinned. Yum. But he would be good. She was a good friend.
“I’m glad you came here tonight.”
***
“If you wanna get me out of these, just say so” She teased, noticing the way he looked at her. She couldn’t help but say something about it as she started the movie for them. She gave him a wink then grabbed one of the glasses of milk to dip her cookie in. “Me too. Thanks for today”
***
Bobby chuckled. “I thought today was just hanging out and watching netflix.” he chided her, and then chuckled.
“Let's just watch the show. And think about that another time.” he grinned at her, and sat back to watch.
