Santana and Quinn had been separated the whole day before and it had made Santana antsy. Not only that, she didn't sleep well that night. She missed Quinn’s body next to her, as it always helped her sleep. And she was worried that she would wake up and Quinn would be gone. Taken away from her in some sick, cruel joke of life.
Everything was going to be simple today, she thought as she walked through her list of things to do. Most of them she had already pre-planned or had ready to go. She marked things off one by one and then started to get herself ready. She went and got her hair and makeup done. It was all simply done. Nothing too dramatic. Just a more polished look for herself. Her mind kept going through everything and she couldn’t believe the time was here. Her dress was already at the location and she was excited to get it on. She wanted Quinn’s mouth to drop when she finally gazed upon her. She realized how stuck up that sounded in her head, but damn if she didn’t want to make her fiance to just be blown away.
She headed over to the Bonnie Belle and found the room where she was going to get ready. Her dress hung there and she let her hand simply caress the fabric and feel it. She smiled and wondered what Quinn was doing at this moment.

Quinn was just as nervous as her fiance about the impending nuptials. Oh, there were so many things that could go wrong and the blonde must have thought about them at least every hour. She could rip her dress, her hair could fall down, she could trip, or worse? Santana could be sent back suddenly, leaving Quinn standing at the altar, unaware of what had befallen the woman she loved more than life itself. Oh, she knew it was absolutely foolish to think any of this would happen, but with the pressure for the day to be perfect, she couldn’t help, but dwell on all that could go wrong. As it was, she hadn’t slept well without her cuddle buddy, Santana, beside her to keep her warm and comfort her when she had a nightmare. Unfortunately, last night, she’d had more than a few, but thank God for make-up and especially cover-up for her under her eyes.
Hair and makeup finished, Quinn headed to the Bonne Belle to slip into her dress. Part of her was worried that the dress might be ruined somehow, but when she opened the door, the dress was there, perfectly snow white and ready for Quinn to slip into for her special day. No, not just her special day, but their special day and it felt like it had been forever in coming, but it was today. In a way, it felt like a dream and Quinn was half expecting to wake up at any moment, but in the end, she slipped into the dress, fabric brushing her skin, and sprayed on a bit of perfume. Looking into the mirror, a bright smile graced her face and she could not help, but snap a selfie.

Santana slipped herself into the dress. Luckily, she had gone for something simple. There wasn’t any lacing to be done, no knots to be tied. She wanted something that she’d be able to manage herself. She knew that she was rushing the wedding and that if they wanted something more, it could be done later. But she couldn’t wait any longer and so she picked the dress that would do. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t the Santana Lopez of dresses. It wouldn’t drop everyone’s mouth or would make people stop and stare. But she knew it would make Quinn smile, and that’s all that mattered. After making all the final touches and adjustments, Santana walked out first. She greeted the officiant with a smile and a hug and took her spot. She wanted Quinn to have that moment of walking down the aisle. It wasn’t a church wedding and there wasn’t an audience, but Santana knew that Quinn deserved that. So she stood at the end with the officiant. Her sleek white dress shimmered in the dusk light as the sun slowly started making its way down. The dress gently hugged every curve of Santana, the beadwork was simply but artistic, forming a pattern that went down the length of the dress. She had thought about wearing gloves but decided against it. She wasn’t that traditional. Her shoes gave her a few extra inches and she knew she may pay for it later.
Santana heard the music start to signal Quinn’s entrance. She held her hands on her simple bouquet of flowers, waiting for her fiance to emerge.

Every last detail was in place and Quinn knew Santana was already out there, waiting for her to join her. It was not the wedding she imagined, but when Santana said they should just go for it, Quinn agreed completely. Why wait any longer? In Madison, there was always a chance of someone getting sent home and she knew Santana did not want to risk losing her again. She wouldn’t be able to deal with it if she lost her before they even had a chance to say their vows. Quinn felt the same way; she’d be devastated if Santana was sent home before they could say they were married. A final adjustment in the mirror and Quinn flashed a smile, the tips wavering a bit with nerves. This was really happening and yes, she could do this. She could walk out that door and marry the woman she loved with everything she had.
Quinn slipped out of her room and instantly the music filled her ears. A few steps more and she was looking at Santana, the absolute picture of beauty with a bouquet of flowers grasped gently in her hands. It was a simple dress, but Quinn smiled at the sight of her fiance. It was not Santana’s normal style, but she loved it because it was different and that side of Santana that so few got to really know: the soft side. Quinn slowly started down the aisle, consciously aware of how easy it would be to trip in these heels, but she managed without a hitch or a stumble. Arriving by Santana’s side, she reached out grasped the other woman’s hands tightly in her gloved ones. It felt like an eternity to simply walk to her, but everything felt like it all had led to this.

It was like time had frozen when Santana spied Quinn coming out. Quinn moved slowly, time itself seemed to have slowed as Santana got to watch Quinn, freely and of her own choosing, walk toward her. Marriage. How was this even a thing. How did she get so lucky that Quinn, of all people, she would be getting married to. Friends, enemies, frenemies and more, the duo had always been intertwined. And now, this blond vision was walking towards her in a beautiful dress. One that just worked on Quinn. If it had been on anyone else, it would have looked pedestrian. But Quinn had a magic about her when it came to style and she was just a vision. Santana could feel her eyes begin to well up and she cursed herself inwardly for being sappy. When she reached out, Santana gripped Quinn’s hands tightly. She grinned stupidly and looked at her soon to be bride. She shook her head slightly in wonder and amazement.
“You look beautiful. I’m so lucky” Santana squeaked out, trying to get the words out before anything else could happen.

The walk did seem to feel as if it was an eternity and the aisle seemed to only lengthen as she made her way to Santana. When she finally arrived, clasping the other woman’s hands tightly in her own, it all felt so surreal. Quinn, for once in her life, was speechless and didn’t know what to say or if she should say anything at all before the ceremony started. Of course Santana did manage a few words and like all compliments from Santana, they made her blush badly. “So am I,” Quinn managed to reply around the growing lump in her throat. “It all feels so magical and surreal at the same time.”
Feeling the officiant’s eyes upon her, Quinn blushed brighter still and looked up at him, giving a nod. “I think we are ready now.”

The next few moments went by in a blur. Santana remembered hearing words come out of the officiants mouth but she was so lost in the moment. She nodded where appropriate. When it was Quinn’s time to speak, Santana nearly lost it. Here eyes let loose rogue tears though she fought and held back the torrent that was within her. She barely remembered her vows, her mind all over the place. But it came out, even though she thought it may have been too sappy. It was what was inside of her. Her world came back into focus when the rings had been exchanged and she heard “You may now kiss your bride” Quinn was at the end of her tunnel vision. The only thing that existed in time and space and Santana gently pulled Quinn in and kissed her. They had kissed many times before this, but this kiss, the singular moment, was the first time they had kissed as a married couple. So much energy that had been built up inside of Santana was let loose, and she tried to harness it into the energy and passion she gave to Quinn. It probably wasn’t “the wedding kiss” that Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore had in that movie, as it went on a lot longer in Santana’s mind. Everything she had wanted was right here in this spot and she didn’t want it to end.

It was a blur, but Quinn heard bits and pieces, coming to from her dreamlike state only when the rings were exchanged and suddenly there were the words “You may now kiss your bride”. Gently, Santana pulled her in and kissed her passionately. It felt more powerful than any kiss they had shared in the past, but no doubt it had a lot to do with all the built of emotions leading up to this moment. It all felt magical and even when Santana pulled away, tears reflecting in her eyes, Quinn couldn’t believe that it had all actually happened. She and Santana were married! It felt like she’d never be able to officially say that and just the words in her head sounded beautiful and bittersweet. After everything they’d been through, Santana had been through, they were finally together forever.
“I love you Santana,” Quinn said softly, voice cracking with obvious emotion and the lump large in her throat. She could feel tears slowly trickling down her cheeks, but she couldn’t remember smiling as hard as she was at this moment. “We did it.”

“We did” Santana said, resting her forehead on Quinn’s and closing her eyes. It was a whirlwind of emotions inside of her. “I can’t believe it” Santana said, whispering as they walked back to a smaller private room. “You look” Santana said before simply settling on the word “stunning” She took in Quinn’s whole look and grinned. “I am ready for whatever this place throws at us, as your wife” Santana said, humbly before playfully poking Quinn on the nose. “I think we get to be in here for a little bit while they set up a nice dinner for us” Santana said, her gaze shifting to the door for a moment. “It’d be a shame to waste this private room by just sitting here” Santana said, a grin slowly spreading across her face.

Quinn broke into a sneaky, mischievous smile and nodded. “It would be such a shame indeed,” Quinn replied, nudging the other woman in the side with an elbow. “We should make use of it while we can,” Quinn leaned in and placed a delicate kiss on Santana’s nose and then a deeper, more passionate one upon her lips. “I say we go for it and maybe end up getting kicked out before dinner.” She doubted they would be kicked out or even discovered, but the risk was a thrill, was it not?
“BTW. I’m ready for whatever this place throws at us too. As your wife and partner forever,” Quinn pulled back only a few inches and gave Santana a sincere smile. “I love you. No matter what.”
