WHO: Evie and Superboy WHAT: A phone conversation WHEN: Recently WARNINGS: None STATUS: Closed and Complete
Superboy was a little bummed out by this place, and he sometimes wasn’t entirely sure what to do with himself. He had a few friends and he hung out with them when he could, but a lot of the times, he felt like he was alone. Which was mostly his fault, he knew. Stupid brain.
But he had remembered Evie, and she had seemed fun when they had met in the speed dates. So one day he lifted his phone and dialed her. Hopefully they could have a cool date, something fun, and just enjoy a night together, or a day, or something.
***
Evie had been keeping herself busy with her clothing designs since Speed Dating. She wanted to get herself established at least among the teenagers because that was how she defined herself these days. If she wasn't the most in demand designer at school, she wasn't sure what her position was.
Her phone rang while she was at the sewing machine so she was a bit distracted and answered it on speaker. "You've reached Evie," she greeted, bright and cheery even through the pins she had in between her lips.
***
“Hello, beautiful. You still sound just as nice as you did at the speed dates. This is Superboy, Conner? I was wondering if you might be free for a date sometime soon.”
He really didn’t beat around the bush, but hoped she would have a night free sometime soon. He’d just started a new job recently, and the bosses liked him and it paid more, so… now he could afford to do dates with some style.
***
It took her a minute to place the voice but when she did, she grinned. The sewing machine stopped and she pulled the pins from her lips so she could talk properly. It was a good thing her room was warded, otherwise she might've been worried about Peter eavesdropping. Or Groot.
"Well, hello," she replied, grinning ear to ear. He'd been the cutest of the bunch and the only one she'd given her number to. "I'd love to go on a date with you. When have you got in mind?" If they'd been on the Isle, Evie probably wouldn't have been so open about her date book being so empty. Here, it didn't really matter and she could just move other things around to make time for a date with a seriously cute boy. She needed to have some fun.

“I was hoping we could go this week, when you had time. I work mornings and afternoons, alternating. So all my evenings are free.” And Evie was hot, nice, and enthusiastic.
He hoped they could do something fun.
“Maybe a movie and dinner, so we could talk some more?”
***
Well that was interesting. "Evenings I can do. How about Friday night?" There wasn't any harm in making him wait a bit, plus it would give her time to finish up the skirt she was working on. It would look great with the top she'd just finished and she'd look damn good for her date.
"Dinner first, that way we can skip the movie if we want to." Evie figured that would be as good a sign as any if they ended up skipping the movie because they were having such a good time with dinner. Or they found another way to occupy their evening. She wasn't opposed to either scenario.

Superboy was smiling wider, now, and quite happy with this. “Sounds perfect to me.” he paused then grinned. “Do you like heights?” Spending time with a cute woman, and one with a sexy smile and a brain? Sounded like fun.
“What’s your favorite kinds of food?”
***
"Heights?" Evie didn't really understand the connection between dinner and heights, but she hadn't been in Madison Valley particularly long, so maybe there was a restaurant she didn't know about just yet. It wasn't like she ate out all that often at anywhere that wasn't delivery. "Heights don't bother me," she replied after a moment, figuring whatever he had up his sleeve would be good.
"Apples are my favorite. Otherwise, I don't have anything in particular I love and I like just about everything." She wasn't a picky eater by any means, so whatever restaurant he had in mind, she'd probably like.
"What time are you picking me up?"
***
“Yes, heights. Do you like them?” He wasn’t meaning to be mysterious, but it seemed a good question to ask. “I can fly.” That might help.
“How is six? We can go to dinner and take our time from there.” He felt that was the best way. He hoped she liked the idea. He wanted to get to know her a little.
***
"Flying, huh?" That sounded interesting enough that she was going to ignore the fact that she was agreeing to go on a date with someone who had abilities. It wasn't magic, or at least she didn't think it was magic. Evie was curious enough to want more information because someone who could fly would be helpful if her, Carlos' or Mal's parents ever showed up.
"I'm interested in seeing what that's all about," she replied, giving him the green light to involve some kind of flying around for their date. "Six works for me. You can pick me up at the corner," Evie added, giving him the exact cross streets. Peter and Groot didn't need to be involved in her personal life.
***
“Yep. It can be fun.” He used telekinesis, along with an innate ability to negate gravity’s effects on anything in his personal aura… which, really, I mean, magic. Science. Something. He didn’t care why it worked, only that it did.
“I’d be glad to show you. Either on the date or not.” He smiled as she went on. “I can do that. I’ll be there. “ he paused then realized he needed to ask one more thing. “What kind of food would you rather have? There are some amazing places to eat here.”
***
Evie grinned. "I'll leave my judgement until you show me first hand," she replied, flirting a little bit with him. Flirting was the best part, she thought, so it was fun to be able to do it with someone in Madison. It helped that Superboy was super cute and super fun.
"Oh, anything will do. Something you like." She really wasn't very picky and it'd be a nice insight into him if it was something he liked.
***
“I do love to use my hands.” A little flirting back, that was okay, right? He hoped so.
“Hnmmm, okay. I know just the thing. Six pm, Friday, I will pick you up.” He smiled to himself.
