Gibbs & Ana
Holidays had become few and far between for Ana back home. With the uprisings and war, getting to spend the holidays with friends was considered a treat. Getting to spend them with family? That was a true rarity. Though Ana was fortunate that her daughter had been with her living in the Overwatch barracks, seeing that longing in the faces of others made it difficult to enjoy.
Things were different here. Being away from others was nothing new for her. She had been on many a mission that kept her away for months at a time. Sometimes even longer. It was still troubling considering the mess that had been left back home, but she had been assured it was being taken care of; that things continued as normal.
Seeing the forest of lights as another good distraction from thinking far too deeply about the events at King's Row. Ana was also keeping a slight distance, but a watchful eye on those in attendance. There was a point where she helped a small child collect a cup of hot chocolate before sending them off toward their parents.
Her attention was pulled away when she heard someone approaching and grinned at the offering of coffee. "I had thought I would be more adjusted to this weather given the time I had spent in Nepal. Sadly, it seems to have not made a difference." Taking the coffee, she gave it a careful sip. It was, indeed, exactly what was needed.
"Ana," she offered. "It is always good to put a more tangible face with words.
