"It's fine. Please. No worries," Jean hurried to reassure him because she'd noticed his cringing and hadn't meant to scare him so much. "I was distracted too. What matters is we didn't end up running into each other," Jean added with a weak smile. "And I won't hurt you or anything. I'm not mad." It bothered Jean more than she would ever say when someone seemed to look at her with a bit of fear and worry. Mostly, this was because of her own lack of confidence in herself and her abilities. It made her realize how vulnerable the rest of the world actually was to her.
