Maya and Briar
Being a city kid, it was probably a little strange how much Briar hated being stuck indoors. But back in Hajra, everything had always been very open, it was always warm enough that things had been built that way. And the best parts of his life in Winding Circle had been spent outdoors, in the garden with Rosethorn. It all built up to him hating being stuck behind heavy doors and glass windows with stagnating air and any plants within reach those relegated to too-small pots.
And it was even worse in the winter. At least here most trees were evergreen, and that was something.
He laughed a little at her comment, leaning into her to nudge her shoulder with his. "Should'a thought of that sooner."
If she really wanted, he could of course use his magic to create some kind of shelter and privacy, but that was a big task for this time of year and he was getting a little out of practice at actually using his magic for things. Chances were pretty good it would drain him too much to be worth the effort.
