Bucky grinned. "And you went and did what you always did," he replied, and there wasn't the slightest bit of heat in his tone. He wasn't mad about it anymore. Yes, he missed his best pal the way he'd been, but Steve was Steve. That was all that mattered. "Except that was your lucky night because you got picked for a special program to make super soldiers." That research had led, in part, to what Bucky himself had become, but Steve didn't need to know that right now.
"I wouldda put a stop to it if I could, but it worked out. You saved my bacon a couple of times, thanks to that serum." Steve had finally become on the outside what Bucky'd always known he was on the inside. It was just time for the rest of the world to see it and not question it.
"Plus, don't gotta worry about cold winters, asthma, your heart. It's all fixed. Gotta eat like we're eating for four, but that's ot so bad a trade off at the end of the day." What struck him was that he was actually okay with Steve being serum'd now. That was new.
