Hermione smiled and cast the necessary spells, using both her wand and the verbal incantations for the benefit of the woman standing in front of her. She could have done it nonverbally but she didn't like to give everything away if she could help it.
"It is, though I hope there's not often cause to use them," Hermione replied. She understood the need for privacy just as much as the next person, but she also didn't like to rely on magic too much if she could help it. "What sort of magic to you practice?" There were so many kinds of magics represented in Madison Valley that Hermione was curious to learn more.
