Rose was handling Dimitri's disappearance better than she thought she would. She missed him; of course she did; but knowing he was alive back home helped to alleviate the grief of his disappearance.
She also had other things to worry about - like LIssa. Lissa had lost Christian at the same time she'd lost Dimitri. As a Guardian and as Lissa's best friend, she had a great deal of practice (and really it took very little effort) pushing her feelings aside and worrying instead about her friend.
When Lissa got home, Rose was sprawled on her couch, flipping throuigh a magazine. When she saw her, she sat up and threw the magazine back on the coffee table.
"Surprise," she said, "It's girl's night."
It had been far too long and God knew that they needed it.
