Who: Cameron Mitchell and Lucas Friar What: Talking When: Saturday night Where: Their place Warnings: TBD Status: Closed/On-going
It had been a little while since the idea had first come up, since Cameron and Melinda had made the decision to take Ella up on the offer, and Cameron had spent the time doing a little research to figure out what a fair price for something that size would be, talking over numbers with Melinda to come up with a really low-balled version of that number and making sure it was something they could afford without putting a strain on them. It was, of course, and he’d have to float it to Ella, was prepared to be fought and to back down a little, just a little. He wasn’t prepared to let the house be a flat out gift, that was way too much. But he could accept a pretty steep reduction.
And since all that was all but decided, it was time to talk to Lucas about it. But that wasn’t all Cameron had on his mind when he heard the kid’s truck pull up in front of the townhouse. There was one other thing on his mind, not a solid decision just yet but something he definitely wanted to talk about before it was made, and since Melinda was still at work it was a very convenient time to do so.
“Hey kid,” he called out a greeting from the living room when Lucas came in the door. “Come on in here for a second.”
At least there wasn’t any of the tone that meant Lucas was in trouble for something.
