"It's the accent, isn't it?" Adam offered a lopsided grin. "The accent always gives me away. But yes. Lower Tadfield, to be exact. Not terribly far from London, I suppose, though I don't often go into the city. Lower Tadfield has everything I need, or it did until I went to University. I was studying architecture. And then I came here."
Which skipped all the important bits, but Adam wasn't one to lie or omit important information. Some things would come out over the course of time, and getting to know someone. He wasn't compelled to bare all and every little detail just then, but there were things he felt he should say.
"When I was a baby, there was a mix up at the hospital. As it happened, I went home with the wrong parents. I was raised by the Youngs, and they are for all intents and purposes my parents. But my father, my true father, is actually Satan himself, and he wanted me to help him destroy the world when I was just eleven. I resisted, and instead defeated him and that's the last I heard from him."
That was the sort of thing that needed to be confronted right from the start. Although being from an entirely different planet and world of existence, she might not even care about him being the son of Satan.
