Who: Layla Williams and Tauriel Where: The Park When: Saturday Late Morning What: Match-up! Warnings: Most likely none Status: Closed/In-Progress
It was fall, and Layla could already hear the chatter between the trees. Some where a bit confused at the surprisingly warm weather. Others were ready to let go of their leaves. It was interesting, but Layla had a feeling that others wouldn't find it so.
She had settled against one of the older chestnut trees in the park, giving it a light pat against it's trunk as he did. "I knew you'd be the best choice for reading." The tree seemed to respond, dropping a few nuts and leaves as almost a small gift. Layla grinned, pressing the leaves between pages in her book. "I think I might know a few people who would like these. Thanks!" Sure, it looked odd to see a girl having such a casual conversation with a tree. However, considering the folks who lived within the town, Layla didn't feel too out of place.
Just as she found a comfortable position, she held up a hand to shield the sun that was beginning to peek over the higher branches. Turning to face the tree once more, Layla held up a hand. After a moment, one of the branches groaned and stretched to keep the sun hidden for a bit longer. "Thanks again, old friend," she said, touching against a damaged spot in the bark, mending it as much as she could.
