Even though sex with Ian had made Madison Valley a bit more bearable, Sebastian still hated it here. And why wouldn’t he? He was stuck in a hillbilly hick town with less culture than Lima, and that was really, really saying something. He couldn’t help but look around him with complete and utter disdain. They even wanted him to go to public school. There wasn’t a chance he was going to do that unless they dragged him forcibly through the doors. He wasn’t willing to give up all of his dignity.
So while technically he was skipping school today, he saw it rather as upholding his principles. As if there was anything a public school could teach him, anyway.
He’d gone to Walmart today. He’d honestly never been inside of one before. He hadn’t wanted to make an exception, but he needed deodorant, and he wasn’t even sure that any other place in town sold the type he liked. As soon as he’d stepped inside, he’d wrinkled his nose in disgust. The people in here were every bit as bad as he’d thought they’d be, and it smelled like dirty people and cheap clothing. Ugh.
He strode quickly over towards the pharmacy area, wanting to get out of here as quickly as he could, before that smell of poverty wore off on him. He already felt like he was going to need a shower.
When he reached the aisle, there was someone standing in his way, not leaving enough room for him to pass. He looked at them with a haughty look of disapproval.
“Out of the way, please. Not all of us like to spend enough time in here that we end up smelling like the place.”

It wasn’t Steve the young man was speaking to, he was conscientious enough to not be in everyone’s way, but from behind him, he couldn’t just not do anything. At first glance, he’d thought he was looking at Barry. Kara’s friend had been by the house a few times, often enough they’d met in passing even if they didn’t really know each other, but he liked to think he was at least familiar enough to be confident Barry wasn’t someone who would talk to someone that way.
It probably wasn’t his place to say anything, but he could see the situation about to turn, even after all their years here a lot of natives didn’t take so kindly to the unintended visitors. Quickly he stepped in.
“Let’s not start anything we don’t want to finish,” he advised, coming up behind the young man.

Sebastian was definitely not Barry. While Barry was kind and understanding almost to a fault, Sebastian could be absolutely cruel when the mood took him. Which it was certainly doing now.
When Steve spoke, he whirled on him, fixing him with a glare.
"Don't worry," he practically hissed, "I don't start anything I'm not willing to finish."
He wasn't afraid of this backwoods hick who'd been standing in his way. And he didn't need some do-gooder's help.
