WHO: Clarke and Thor WHAT: Thor runs into his friend again and they talk. WHEN: During Thor’s week as a woman. WHERE: Out and about. WARNINGS: None STATUS: Closed and Complete
Thor had been trying to get out more, especially with having had positive reactions and experiences with both friends and strangers this week, he had begun to feel rather more able to deal with the world. Being stuck in a body with a gender that was not your own was hard, and off-putting, but it was not the end of the world, and he could see and feel that now.
Today, he was walking, just taking in the town as he did little things. He went to Hinkles for breakfast, and Horst for lunch, he sat at a park during one part of the day and wandered in the woods during another. He was enjoying, for once, not structuring his time. Normally, it drove him a little crazy., but today… he was fine with it. He wore long shorts, boots, and a polo shirt and just let himself enjoy the day.
And everywhere he went, he kept a warm smile and a nod for all.

Despite being wholly committed to Lexa, Clarke couldn’t help but notice the attractive women sitting near the fountain when she headed down there with her sketchpad. The fountain was still one of her favorite things in town to draw after all this time and her various books were full of different takes on it.
Still, she offered a pleasant smile to the unfamiliar woman. She generally contained her human form sketching to Lexa or her friends, but this woman was beautiful and might be a good subject.
“Hello,” she said. “Will it bother you if I do some sketching?”
***
“Hello, Clarke! It is good to see you, my friend.” Thor smiled to her, and nodded. “Go right ahead. I do not think I have ever been sketched before.”
He cocked his head to the side. “Not in millenia, anyway.” With a shake of his head, he smiled again and asked. ”Is there any particular position you want me in?”
He favored her with a warm smile. “It is good to see you out and about again.”
***
Clarke blinked in confusion when she was greeted by name. How was it possible that she forgot meeting this woman?
“I’m sorry,” she said. “I don’t recall meeting you before. I’m not sure how I forgot.” She was a little embarrassed to admit it, but she wanted to know the other woman’s name, especially if she was willing to be a subject for Clarke.
***
Thor blinked, then facepalmed. He spoke again, gently. “I am sorry. I forget that others cannot tell who i am. I am Thor, Clarke. The Dome has seen fit to put me in a female body for these last few days.”
He smiled shamefacedly at her. “Forgive me, please., I did not intend to deceive or startle you.”
***
Oh, well, that explained things and made Clarke chuckle. Thor cut a rather impressive figure regardless of his current gender and she flushed slightly for the thoughts that crossed her mind. “It’s nice to see you again,” Clarke said. “I hadn’t heard about your current situation.” It wasn’t a huge surprise though, considering some of the other things the dome did.
“Are you doing okay?” she asked. It had to be awkward for him.
***
“I didn’t make a big deal of it. I thought it silly to do so, after so many have been through so much recently.” Thor shrugged and smiled faintly.
“I am, now. It’s been a few days, and I am lucky enough to have quite a few strong women, like yourself, in my life. I have gotten advice and managed to cry on a few shoulders.” He spoke without shame of the shock he had felt when he had first turned.
“I am hopeful that, as some have said, it will only last a week or two, and I am resolved to try to enjoy it while I can, even if putting on a bra is still hard for me.” He chuckled.
Then he waved at her. “How have you been? And will you sketch me? I like the idea, I admit.” She looked good, just as she had the last time he had seen her.
*** Bras were a tool of the devil in Clarke’s opinion.
“Most of the odd things in this town don’t last longer than a week or two,” she said, hoping to provide encouragement and support. She was flattered by his compliment. A lot of the time, she didn’t think she was as strong as she needed to be or as strong as others thought she was. Though they’d only spoken once at length, she appreciated that Thor recognized that quality in her.
She hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Sure, I would be honored to sketch you,” she said, pulling out her sketchbook and pencils.
***
Yes, yes they were. Thor nodded, smiling at Clarke. She was a good person. And she did good things, he felt. “How is Aurelie? That was her name, yes?”
At Clarke’s agreement to draw Thor, he smiled. “How do you want me, my friend?”
He grinned, spreading his arms. “I have never been drawn before.”
***
A tiny part of Clarke wanted to suggest nude studies of both his male and female form, but they were in public so that was out. Not to mention she wasn’t sure if her girlfriend would approve. “However you’re comfortable,” she said.
“Aurelia is doing very well,” she said while she waited for him to settle. “We’re going to be moving to a bigger house soon so that she has more space.” And also because they were adding three new people to their household.
***
“Alright.”
Thor looked around, then found a nearby tree, and settled to sit in front of it, leaning back just enough to rest his upper body along the main trunk, and smiled, stretching and feeling the sunlight shine through the trees to hit his form. He loved the sun, and the way it made him feel, and so he smiled warmly, looking to Clark with a raised eyebrow. He felt relaxed and loose-limbed.
“Whenever you wish to start.”
*** Clarke smiled and settled into a comfortable position to observe and sketch Thor. There was a strength obvious in her even while relaxed that Clarke was determined to capture on the page. It wasn’t going to be easy though.
After sketching for what might seem like a long time to her model, she finally looked up from the sketch pad triumphantly. “I think I’m done.”
***
Thor blinked and came out of a resting state, and smiled at Clarke. “Truly? That did not seem long at all! Perhaps we can do this again!”
He rose, stretching again, smiling at her, eyes dancing with warmth.
***
“I would love to do a comparison sketch when you’re back in your regular body,” Clarke said. It would be an interesting side by side to possibly display in next year’s art festival.
She gave a shy smile. “Would you like to see what I drew?” she offered, holding out the sketchbook.
***
“I would be glad to sit for such a thing. Any time.” He grinned at her and nodded at her words.
“I would love to, please?” He nibbled one lips, eyes excited as eh tried not to bounce at the idea.
He took the sketchbook and looked at the picture, mouth opening silently and staring. “This is… this is amazing, Clarke.”
***
She was pleased by his reaction. “If you’d like, I can make you a copy.” Normally she’d be happy to hand over the original, but since she was hoping to do a side by side study, she wanted to keep it close instead.
“Thank you for letting me sketch you.”
***
“I would like that, please. Maybe I will take some video of myself as I am, sometime soon, to preserve the memory. Twould not be a bad thing to recall, when i walked the path of others.” He nodded again, smiling to her.
“Thank you for doing it. Such talent as you have should be applauded. I would be very grateful if you will do the same when I am back to my normal form.” He extended a hand to shake hers, and then nodded.
“And in either case, I am glad to see a friend again.”
***
“Likewise,” Clarke said, shaking his hand with a smile.
It still wasn’t second nature for her to consider someone a friend so soon after meeting them, which made sense given how many times her people were betrayed after they landed on the ground, but she’d been here long enough that she wasn’t surprised to hear Thor refer to her as such.
“You were a much better subject than drawing the fountain again.”
***
Thor smiled to Clarke and nodded, cheeks a little redder . “Thank you. I have no such skills myself, or I would offer them.” It was or seemed the thing to do, to try to pay for such skill.
“In Asgard an artist of such skill would be lauded.”
***
Clarke started putting away her supplies. “I should probably get going,” she said. “But thanks again. Message me when you are back to being you, okay?”
Who knew when that might be the way this town worked.
***
“Absolutely. And thank you.” He smiled at her then glanced around. “I should wander on, as well. I hope that you have a very good day, my friend.” Thor smiled warmly to her and raised a hand.
He had enjoyed meeting her again and getting drawn.
